Socotra is an island off of Yemen where the Eternals clashed during the Emergence of Tiamut the Communicator.

Battle at the Emergence Point[]
The Eternals see the volcano
Rushing to find the Emergence Point, Makkari finally arrived in Socotra to find the volcano starting to erupt as Tiamut the Communicator was starting to emerge. Later, Ikaris and Sprite flew in to watch the emergence and the eventual end of Earth. However, the rest of the Eternals arrived to stop Tiamut. This caused an all out battle. As Sersi, Druig, Phastos, Thena, and Makkari tried to activate the Uni-Mind, Ikaris and Sprite tried to stop them.
During the battle, Kro arrived, in hopes of defeating the Eternals, but Thena was able to kill him. Sersi then ran to Tiamut's palm as he broke through the crust. She used the power of the Uni-Mind to start to turn Tiamut to stone. However, Ikaris landed in front of his love. Preparing to kill Sersi, Ikaris fired up his optical blast, but stopped. Ikaris could not bring himself to kill his love and stopped, deciding to join the Uni-Mind.
Tiamut soon turned completely to stone, causing a huge white rock of a Celestial to emerge. When it was all set and done, Ikaris looked at Sersi and went to his knees in sadness. Sersi approached him and the two shared a moment before Ikaris flew away into the Sun. Sersi then met with the rest of the Eternals as Sersi told Sprite that she could make her a full human, which she did.
Tiamut in the news
Weeks later, the world grew confused at the new rock in the ocean and started excavating around it.[1] Many months later, the question was still being asked as humans had no idea what had happened in Socotra.[2]
Trivia[]
- Despite the Battle at the Emergence Point being in Socotra, Ikaris flies out of South America when he leaves Earth.
