- "Clint, this is my mess to clean up. You should go home. You should be with your family. You can still make it in time for Christmas."
"Kate, you're my partner. Your mess is my mess. I'm not going anywhere until this is finished." - ―Kate Bishop and Clint Barton
So This Is Christmas? is the sixth and final episode of the first season of Hawkeye, as well as the series finale.
Synopsis[]
Clint and Kate's partnership is tested as they face the consequences of exposing the conspiracy.
Plot[]

Wilson Fisk meets with Eleanor Bishop, who had murdered Armand Duquesne III and framed Jack Duquesne for Sloan Limited on his orders. Wary of Kate Bishop's continuous unraveling of her criminal conspiracy, Eleanor cuts ties with Fisk. As she had been secretly recording them, Yelena Belova sends footage of the meeting to Kate and Clint Barton. The former tries to send Barton home to his family to resolve her family matters alone, but he insists on sticking together as partners. Elsewhere, Maya Lopez meets with Fisk and Kazi Kazimierczak, declaring she had stopped hunting for Ronin as she leaves them both behind.

Barton and Bishop go to manufacture new trick arrows from scratch. They head to attend a Christmas Eve party near Rockefeller Center to locate Eleanor, where Kazimierczak and the Tracksuit Mafia position themselves to target the Bishop matriarch. Also at the party are Barton's first responder allies, a recently released Duquesne carrying a different sword on him, and Belova. Bishop locates her mother and escorts her to the pantry and away from the Tracksuits' sightlines, while getting her to confess to her crimes by showing to her Belova's video. Kazimierczak fires a round at Barton, and as everyone runs for cover, Belova chases him. Barton forces Kazimierczak to retreat by firing a gas arrow into his hideout.

Bishop commands Eleanor to remain in the pantry as she leaves to fight, but she runs out too, as Duquesne decides to spring into action with his sword. Bishop sees Belova and gives chase, but fails to stop her from reaching Barton. With a prior warning from his partner, Barton manages to avoid being shot by Belova. Bishop uses Belova's zipline to rush down to the ground, where the Tracksuits attack her. Duquesne arrives and helps her confront the Tracksuits. Meanwhile, Kazimierczak and more Tracksuits ambush Barton and try to kill him, but he knocks out Kazimierczak and escapes the building on a zipline. However, he lands in the Rockefeller Center's Christmas tree instead. Directed by Bishop, the first responders attempt to guide the civilians to safety, but only when they don their LARPing gear do they follow their commands.

Using an acid arrow, Bishop fells the Rockefeller tree and frees Barton. A horde of Tracksuits attack the archer duo on the ice, but they are held off by their trick arrows. One Tracksuit-driven truck attempts to run them over, but Bishop uses a red Pym Particles arrow to shrink them, and the truck is carried off by an owl. After Grills locates Eleanor outside, Bishop rushes to confront her. As Kazimierczak returns to fight, Barton fires an arrow at him, but he catches it. Lopez confronts Kazimierczak, hoping for him to abandon Fisk with her. He refuses, and Lopez stabs him with the arrow after a brief struggle. Belova ambushes Barton on the ice, who informs her about Natasha Romanoff's pivotal sacrifice for the fates of the Blipped. In denial, she lashes out at him, but Barton gets her to stand down by performing Romanoff's secret whistle. Realizing that they are both in grieving, Belova helps Barton up and leaves.

As Fisk attacks Eleanor in her car, Bishop arrives to face him, while Eleanor rams him into a toys store with the vehicle. Initially gaining the upper hand, Fisk snaps Bishop's trick arrows like twigs, but she activates the arrowheads and causes an explosion which greatly weakens him. Afterwards, Eleanor is handed over to authorities, who discover Fisk had escaped. He is confronted by Lopez, who shoots him. On Christmas Day, Barton successfully returns to his family at home, bringing Bishop and the Pizza Dog along, who is now named Lucky. Laura Barton is handed back her S.H.I.E.L.D.-issued Rolex, and the Ronin outfit is set ablaze on the grill. Bishop struggles to come up with a superhero name for herself, leading Barton to suggest something.

Trivia[]

- A portion of the track "Trading Judgement" from Daredevil season three soundtrack by John Paesano is used during most of Kingpin's scenes.
- The scene of Wilson Fisk being shot by Maya Lopez is a reference to Daredevil #15, in which Fisk survived the shot but was temporarily blinded.
- Laura Barton is revealed to be a former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who operated under the codename "Agent 19". In the comics, Agent 19 is the S.H.I.E.L.D. designation of Bobbi Morse/Mockingbird, who was the one-time wife of Clint Barton.
