Smith was stationed inside the Air Force's Facility in Washington, D.C. when Glenn Talbot called together all the female members of his staff. As the staffers went inside, Talbot and Smith passed by someone who appeared to be Brookton, as Talbot ordered Brookton to contact Phil Coulson and explain the situation. As he went to question the female staffers, Talbot had then ordered Smith to stand guard and not allow anyone else inside.[1]
