The Skirmish in Mexico was the first of the Elemental Attacks that was orchestrated by Quentin Beck, aimed at gaining the trust of "Nick Fury" and "Maria Hill."
Background
Following reports of a "storm with a face," Nick Fury and Maria Hill arrive in Ixtenco. They find the town in ruins from a recent storm, but under a clear sky.[1]
Skirmish
Startled by the sudden arrival of an as-yet-unidentified superhuman, a large monster made of Earth arose and attacked them. Fury and Hill began to fire at the Sandman, it roared across the area. Mysterio then blasted energy from his hands, destroying the monster.[1]
Aftermath
After Quentin Beck destroyed the Elemental, he joins with Nick Fury and Maria Hill to stop the other three Elementals that are about to attack around the world. Fury had to contact Spider-Man in order gain assistance from him, only to get ignored, resulting into hijacking Parker's field trip to Europe.[1]
