The Skirmish at Portland Harbor was an attempt by Ana Helstrom and Louise Hastings to use a dagger owned by Helstrom's father to kill Kthara.

Background[]

The demon Kthara was freed from Saint Teresa Center for Mental Health,[2] and hid at Portland Harbor on the Garibaldi II while her host body, Victoria Helstrom, started failing.[3] She ripped her son out of his deceased host body and had Raum and Magoth set a trap for Daimon Helstrom, so that she and her son could possess new people. Raum, who was possessing a priest, called Saint Teresa's and asked for them to send their exorcist, Helstrom, to the Harbor.

Louise Hastings took the call and told Ana Helstrom about it, aware that the priest was possessed. She told Helstrom that it was clearly a trap for her brother, so Helstrom decided that she and Hastings would go together. Hastings agreed that Helstrom's brother would not be willing to kill Kthara using the half of her father's dagger which had been recovered, so the two decided to go together. Furthermore, since the dagger had been used by her father to kill people, Helstrom would not be able to touch it, so she convinced Hastings to be the one to kill Kthara.[4]

Skirmish[]

Ana Helstrom and Louise Hastings arrived at Portland Harbor, boarding the Garibaldi II, where Kthara was hiding. Raum saw them and realized that Helstrom's brother had not shown up. Hastings showed Kthara that they had found Helstrom's father's dagger, scaring Kthara. She threw several stuff at Helstrom and Hastings, although the two dodged the objects. Helstrom held Kthara down while Hastings tried to stab her, getting stopped by Kthara's telekinesis. Helstrom struggled against the pain she was feeling while Kthara said that Helstrom's mother would feel it for the rest of eternity. Hastings ripped the dagger out of Helstrom's leg, saying that it was the reason the dagger was her father's favorite.

Hastings and Helstrom stood back up while Kthara encouraged them to kill her, saying it would damn Helstrom's mother. Kthara then passed out and Victoria Helstrom resumed control. Not willing to let her mother die, Helstrom forced the dagger out of Hastings' hand and put a pillow over her mother's face, suffocating her with the intent to bring her back at the hospital, no longer possessed. Hastings tried to convince her it was a bad idea, since Kthara would possess someone else, but Helstrom focused on freeing her mother. She convinced Hastings to go along with the plan and Helstrom's mother eventually died, and Hastings began doing chest compressions while Helstrom called an ambulance.

Upset that it was not working, Ana desperately looked for something to help Victoria, although Hastings explained that it was up to Victoria to come back. Frustrated, Ana yelled at Victoria, and she finally gasped for air, having returned. She saw Ana and told her not to yell, as the three happily reunited.[4]

Aftermath[]

Victoria Helstrom was brought back to Saint Teresa Center for Mental Health and put on a hospital gurney, while Ana Helstrom called Daimon Helstrom to tell him the news about their mother. However, Kthara possessed Gabriella Rosetti and had Basar possess Daimon, and the two impregnated Rosetti.[4] Rosetti was forced through almost her entire pregnancy in a single day,[5] and forced to give birth to a new form for Kthara, which she had wanted.[6]
