"He discovered that there were universes stacked on top of his own..."
The subject of this article comes from an alternate universe connecting to the main timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This universe is designated by the Marvel Cinematic Universe Wiki as the "Norman Osborn-Mentored Spider-Man Universe".

"It used to be that likes of Captain America kept to where they belong. Wars, espionage, outer space. But things are changing. Look at what's become of Hell's Kitchen. I will not let that happen in Queens."
―Silvermane to Man Mountain Marko[src]

Don Silvio Manfredi is a crime boss and the leader of the Manfredi Crime Family, known as Silvermane.

Biography[]

This is an in-depth biography of Silvermane. For an abridged overview, see Marvel Database's article on the same character.

Bid for Midtown High School[]

Destruction of Midtown High School[]

"I want that mammalucco eliminated in such a way... that anyone who see what's left of him wakes up screaming if they even dream of crossing Silvio Manfredi. Summon the Enforcers."
―Silvermane to Man Mountain Marko[src]

Silvermane sought to gain control over the land in New York City where Midtown High School was located, so his real estate company made a number of bids to purchase the land. When that did not go through, Silvermane ordered his men in the Manfredi Crime Family to plant a bomb at the school and use the damage done to the building to move forward with the purchase.[1] Although the school was destroyed by the duel between Doctor Strange and a Symbiotic Alien before the bomb went off,[2] Silvermane's plan still succeeded. Silvermane ordered Vincenzo and Paulie to clean up at the school post-explosion, but they had an unexpected encounter with a young man with enhanced abilities.

Upon returning to his headquarters, Vincenzo reported to Silvermane that the man they found at the school had Avengers-like abilities and gave them the slip. In response, Silvermane acknowledged that Vincenzo did what he ordered and appreciated that he brought the situation up to Silvermane, before dismissing Vincenzo. Silvermane talked to Michael Marko about how the likes of the Avengers were keeping to their own business, but that was changing and those like Daredevil were getting to close to his territory. Silvermane had no intentions of letting anyone obstruct his business in Queens and Marko inquired if he should handle the nuisance. Silvermane said that it would not be necessary, since he wanted to deal with that person in a way that would send a message to anyone who would try crossing him in the future, so he decided to involve the Enforcers.[1]

Hunt for Spider-Man[]

"I have a confession to make. I really didn't think past my grand entrance. And I have to hand it to you, that is some impressive hair. So... um... What have you got to say for yourself?"
"Say? I say thank you."
"Huh? Why?"
"Because you're trespassing upon my place of business... which makes everything that's about to happen perfectly legal. Enforcers! Kill him!"
Spider-Man and Silvermane[src]

Not long after, Spider-Man started making rounds around Queens as a local crime fighter, and Silvermane was furious at him claiming the neighborhood as his own. As Michael Marko brought in the Enforcers, Silvermane personally met with Montana, Ox and Fancy Dan, who were eager to take on Spider-Man. Under Silvermane's orders, the Enforcers beat up, publicly humiliated, and then discredited Spider-Man,[3] before Silvermane sent them to the Queens community to threaten people into not campaigning for Midtown High School's reconstruction.[4]

Silvermane congratulated the Enforcers and promised them a bonus, even though they did not kill Spider-Man as they were supposed to, since he saw Spider-Man's reputation being tarnished as enough. He commented on how a name was the most important thing for any man and, now that they had successfully turned Spider-Man into a menace in the public's eyes, killing him would only be a matter of time. Suddenly, Spider-Man himself dropped down through the ceiling, making quips about Silvermane's hair and warning him to stop messing with Queens. Silvermane casually finished his drink and thanked Spider-Man for making things easier by trespassing on his territory, which would make taking him out legal, ordering Marko and the Enforcers to kill him.

However, this time Spider-Man had improved his fighting skills and was able to hold his own against Marko and the Enforcers, while Silvermane moved out of the way. He then told the Enforcers to target the tank on Spider-Man's back where his Synthetic Webbing was stored, which they did, but the resulting webbing explosion neutralized Ox and Montana. Marko and Fancy Dan then brutally beat Spider-Man up and Fancy Dan apologized to Silvermane for destroying his furniture, but Silvermane had no qualms about it. Silvermane then said that lethal force against an intruder would be justified and ordered Marko to throw Spider-Man off the rooftop, asking him to make it look as if it had just happened in the middle of the fight.

Fancy Dan then pointed at a news report about evidence of Silvermane's crimes being leaked and Silvermane immediately ordered him to get his lawyers to send legal threats to every news outlet reporting on him. Silvermane then found a hacking device plugged in his laptop and got furious that Spider-Man could not defeat him like a man and resorted to stealing his data. Silvermane then ordered Marko to finish Spider-Man off and told Ox and Montana that they would have to remain stuck in the web to serve as proof of Spider-Man being a menace.[5] As Marko threw Spider-Man off the roof, Silvermane sent him and Fancy Dan to ensure that he did not survive and spoke with Herman, who managed to stop the news outlets from reporting on him, with Silvermane ordering him to keep it that way no matter the cost.

However, Spider-Man emerged victorious and returned to the office, throwing Fancy Dan at Silvermane, who realized that he was cornered without his men to protect him. Silvermane pleaded with Spider-Man, asking if he wanted money or territory, but Spider-Man instead demanded that Silvermane drop all legal threats and let the news report on his crimes. Silvermane argued that, if he did so, it would ruin his entire criminal empire, but Spider-Man's threat made him back down and order Herman to drop everything. Spider-Man then broke Silvermane's phone and left. As Silvermane had to deal with the fallout of his crimes being exposed, his bid for the Midtown High School land had to be dropped.[6]

Personality[]

"A man's name is all he truly has."
―Silvermane[src]

Silvio Manfredi is fair to his subordinates, not being angry at Vincenzo over enhanced person interfering with the Infiltration into Midtown High School and telling him to stop putting things on his mother's grave.

Manfredi also has anger issues, yelling at Vincenzo to get out as well as angrily throwing a cup at the TV over seeing that an enhanced person had claimed the neighborhood as his.
