Biography[]
Factory Worker[]
Workplace Harassment[]
Silva worked at a Pingo Doce bottling factory in Brazil. His co-worker, Bruce Banner, was a frequent victim of Silva's torment, who repeatedly picked on and bullied him for his ethnicity as an American man, such as when he forcefully shoved Banner into his locker in the employee room.
One day, Silva was sexually harassing Martina, who was becoming increasingly distressed at his advances. Banner came to her intervention by asking her out for lunch to ease the tension, which only infuriated Silva. Before a fight could break out, Marcos de Souza arrived and yelled at them to split up the fight. Silva remained envious of Banner for averting the harassment.[2]
Tormenting Bruce Banner[]
- "You don't understand! Something really bad is about to happen here!"
"Sim, muito ruim.[5]" - ―Bruce Banner and Silva[src]
That evening, while enjoying himself with his gang, Silva was run into by Banner, who was ambushed earlier by a tactical squad led by Emil Blonsky and on the run. Seeking revenge for the earlier workplace incident, Silva quickly got confrontational, and a fight broke out, although Banner was able to dodge his attacks with his quick reflexes. Silva and his gang chased Banner into the Pingo Doce Bottling Plant, unaware of the tactical team also in pursuit.
Silva and his men were the first to find Banner, and restrained him after taking away his backpack from him. Silva taunted Banner, as he was preparing to deliver a vicious beating to him once more. When Banner saw Blonsky and his men taking their positions in the factory, he desperately tried to warn the gang. However, Silva ignored him and delivered a severe blow directly to Banner's stomach, spitefully snickering to himself at Banner's expense.
The blow was enough to send Banner's heartbeat rising to 200 BPM, causing him to transform into Hulk. Oblivious to this, Silva turned back and kicked him, but cried out in pain after breaking his foot against Hulk's tough hide. The fully transformed Hulk snatched Silva by the legs and dragged him into the darkness. Hulk then violently hurled him across the room, sending him screaming through two glass windows and into a metal tank, killing him.[2]
Personality[]
- "Não tão difícil agora hein? Tente aqueles movimentos extravagantes novamente.[6]"
- ―Silva to Bruce Banner[src]
Silva shared the common characteristics and personality traits of a bully. He was very hedonistic, making unsolicited advances on Martina at work, who was uninterested in him. Silva was also xenophobic, frequently bullying Bruce Banner at work for being a white man. His aggressive tendencies, which would later prove to be his downfall, were exacerbated as a result of his bigotry.[2]
