Shadow Monsters are a race of creatures conjured from All-Black the Necrosword who can emerge and travel through shadows.
History[]
Gorr's Vow Against Gods[]
Upon wielding All-Black the Necrosword, Gorr used the weapon to create the Shadow Monsters that would serve as his foot soldiers throughout his campaign of killing every god in the universe. After a successful attack on Falligar, the Shadow Monsters followed Gorr in attacking New Asgard, with some wreaking havoc around the city as a distraction so that others could abduct the children and bring them to the Shadow Realm. The Shadow Monsters then aided Gorr in attacking Thor, Jane Foster, Valkyrie, and Korg when they arrived in the Shadow Realm in an attempt to rescue the abducted children. Following Gorr's successful acquisition of the Stormbreaker to open a portal to Eternity, he commanded the Shadow Monsters to battle Thor, Jane Foster, and the children of New Asgard at the Gates of Eternity. Every Shadow Monster was vanquished after Foster used Mjølnir to destroy the Necrosword.[1]
Characteristic Traits[]
Shadow Monsters are beings of shadows, able to be conjured by the wielder of All-Black the Necrosword. These monsters were used by Gorr the God Butcher to fight for him in battle, and are sometimes used for a distraction. The Shadow Monsters can take the shape of monsters in children's nightmares.
