Trivia[]
- Historically, Sekhmet is an Egyptian lioness goddess connected with the sun.
- In the comics, Sekhmet was also referred to as pan or the "Lion God". She was the protector of the Lion Cult, a rival faction of her sister Bast's Panther Cult, and an enemy of the Avengers.
- Unlike Bast, Sekhmet is not part of the Wakandan pantheon.
- In an Egyptian myth, Sekhmet was actually Hathor, turned into a lioness by Ra.[2] This is also shown in the comics. However, Hathor appears to be a distinct character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
