- "What were you after?"
"The Road." - ―"Agnes O'Connor" and "Teen"
Seekest Thou the Road is the first episode of the first season of Agatha All Along.
Synopsis[]
In small town Westview, Detective Agnes' murder case sends her down a road that changes everything.
Plot[]
Detective Agnes O'Connor, who has been on unpaid leave from the Westview Police Department gets called in to a murder case. O'Connor arrives in the woods and talks to forensics expert, Herb Feltman. They then stumble upon the corpse, which has black fingerprints. This corpse really sets O'Connor aback, although she cannot figure out why. O'Connor also finds a locket in a puddle, which she takes with her. Additionally, there was a tag for a book.
O'Connor arrives at Westview Public Library and rudely demands that Dottie Jones search the book, written by Andrew Ugo. Jones finds out that the book was not checked out from the library and thus stolen three years ago. Jones then told her they have copies in the general sciences section. O'Connor makes her way there only to see said books were scorched with a hole through them. Suddenly, Dennis Webber sneaks up behind her, saying there was a fire.
O'Connor returns to Westview Police Station and reclaims her office. She then has a talk with Chief Phil Jones, who tells her that since the dirt found on the corpse is from Eastern Europe, the FBI has taken the case as well. Just then, Agent Rio Vidal arrives, annoying O'Connor, who has a past with Vidal. The two begin to talk shop as Vidal shows how there was no tracks to the corpse, almost like it magically appeared. The two bicker and O'Connor tells Vidal to leave.
Now moving into the locket, O'Connor meets up with pawn broker, Norm Gentilucci, who examines the locket and determines it is from New England in the late 17th century. He also finds there is a clump of hair inside the locket. Back at her office, O'Connor studies the title of the book Dialogue and Rhetoric Known History of Learning & Debate and finds out the first letters of the words spell out "Darkhold". This strikes a chord with O'Connor, who cannot figure out why.
Arriving at her house, O'Connor is surprised by Vidal, who walks in with beer and pizza. The two decide to talk, which springs into a conversation about how O'Connor has not left Westview and thus does not travel. Vidal then asks if O'Connor remembers why she hates her, which O'Connor cannot answer. Suddenly, there is a sound upstairs. O'Connor finds an intruder and chases him down before arresting him. At the precinct, O'Connor tries to interrogate him and gets frustrated at her failure. The teen then confuses her when he tells her that the photos of the corpse are just a front yard.
O'Connor looks down and sees this is true. He then reveals they are not at the precinct. O'Connor looks around and sees how aspects of her house are along the walls. The teen then starts chanting in Latin, causing O'Connor to throw him in jail. O'Connor goes to the morgue to examine the corpse. She then starts remembering details of a woman whom she does not know. Slowly, she realizes the corpse has scarlet red hair. Vidal then arrives and starts telling O'Connor that she is not "Agnes O'Connor" but Agatha Harkness, who is under the spell of the Scarlet Witch. However, the witch and the Darkhold is gone, so Harkness can break free.
Harkness then starts ripping off her attire, and starts jumping through different eras of O'Connor that she portrayed during the Hex all until she is in black and white when she had first arrived in Westview. Harkness strips off that one last layer and reawakens in her house fully lucid. Harkness rushes outside naked and speaks with a very shocked John Collins, "Herb", who tells her it has been three years. Harkness slowly gains her bearings and walks back inside to find the teen kidnapped and strapped in her closet.
Before Harkness could do anything, Vidal slams through the door in her own witch attire. Harkness finally remembers her and the two fight. Vidal tries to kill Harkness, who tells her it is not allowed. Vidal then says she could make her wish she was dead. The two scuffle some more until Harkness tells Vidal that she should not kill her in a powerless state and should wait until Harkness got her powers back. Vidal reveals that the Salem Seven are also going after Harkness. Nonetheless, Vidal says she will see her then and proceeds to lick Harkness' hand, healing Harkness' wound she had suffered.
