- "Get over there. You need to assume command of the scene from the NYPD. Daredevil is a federal fugitive. Lock down the church. Lock down the entire area. We cannot let them escape."

The Search for Daredevil was an attempt to find Daredevil and Karen Page carried out by Benjamin Poindexter and FBI agents on Kingpin's payroll.

Fearing that Kingpin could take revenge for the murder of James Wesley, Karen Page decided to leave New York City but before she left, she went to Clinton Church to apologize to Matt Murdock for revealing his secret. However, Maggie Grace informed her that Murdock left the church and went off the grid. Instead, she proposed her to cover in the basement of the church where Murdock lived before and Page agreed. However, the FBI managed to locate Page at church and warned New York City Police Department to stay out of location. Fisk ordered Benjamin Poindexter to went to church and assassinate Page.[3]
Donning his Daredevil's Suit, Poindexter arrived at the church where he attacked parishioners with his Billy Clubs. Page then revealed herself in front of Poindexter begging him to leave innocent people but before Poindexter could murder Page, he was attacked by Daredevil. However, Poindexter managed to overpower his hostile and threw club right in Page's direction, only for her to be saved by Paul Lantom who sacrificed himself.
Daredevil fights Benjamin Poindexter
Enraged by the death of his friend, Daredevil beat Poindexter, while Page went to get remained civilians away from the church. Murdock punched Poindexter several times, while Page managed to distract him and civilians successfully escaped. Poindexter managed to knock Murdock out and pursued Page to the second floor where he was attacked by Daredevil once again. Poindexter managed to defeat Daredevil and nearly killed him only for Page to hit Poindexter with the cross, pushing him down to the first floor. However, he managed to escape from the church, killing two more witnesses on the way and decided to regroup and use the FBI forces to take them down.[4]
Search[]
- "These feds know the law. She's our suspect. They can file a writ and maybe talk to her later."
"I will not let you take her."
"You and what army?" - ―Brett Mahoney and Benjamin Poindexter[src]
Since Benjamin Poindexter failed to assassinate Karen Page, he returned to Ray Nadeem and told him that New York City Police Department is coming and he needs to assume command of the scene from them. To complete Kingpin's mission, Poindexter and Nadeem had to lock down the area around the Clinton Church and search for Daredevil and Page. Together with the FBI backup, Nadeem and Poindexter approached Strieber who was in charge of the NYPD forces at the scene. Poindexter claimed that Daredevil is a federal fugitive who is still at the church, despite Maggie Grace's attempt to take them away.
Benjamin Poindexter searches the basement
As Murdock and Page managed to hide in the basement of the church, Poindexter and Nadeem requested access from Grace to check the place and find the suspect. SWAT officers searched the place but failed to find them, as Murdock and Page hid inside the sarcophagus and thanks to Grace's diversion, they were able to avoid getting caught. Grace then gave Nadeem and Poindexter directions to the rooftop of the church and proceeded to go out of the room. Despite his efforts to look on over, Poindexter couldn't find them in any possible way of the church's structure.
The NYPD decided to bring some dogs to search the place for the suspects, however, Grace asked a nun to trick the agents, so she told them that Daredevil was hiding at the Saint Agnes Orphanage. As they managed to buy some time, Murdock called Foggy Nelson and asked him for help. While Daredevil successfully escaped the church, Nelson arrived on the scene as well, just as Page surrounded herself to the NYPD.
Brett Mahoney is confronted by Benjamin Poindexter
Poindexter confronted Brett Mahoney and told them Page is their suspect, however, Nelson and Mahoney replied that her case is in the state's jurisdiction, so the FBI can do nothing with that. Enraged, Poindexter refused to allow Mahoney to take Page, as the tensions between them had risen, Nadeem told Poindexter that they should be working on the same side to finish their investigation. Nadeem went to speak with Mahoney and private and told him that if Page would come with them, she will be dead, so he asked him to take her into their custody. Mahoney personally apprehended Page and took her away from the church, to Poindexter's utter frustration, as he completely failed Kingpin's mission.[1]
Aftermath[]
Matt Murdock, Karen Page, and Foggy Nelson team up
Brett Mahoney took both Karen Page and Foggy Nelson away from the FBI, so they called plan their move against Kingpin. Meeting with Page and Nelson afterward, Matt Murdock apologized to his friends about the way he treated them and they began discussing what to do next. Murdock remains adamant that killing Fisk was the only way to put him down for good while Nelson maintained his faith in the system. Eventually, Murdock agreed to Nelson's plan to use the law against Fisk but they realized that they need Ray Nadeem to accomplish their mission.
Ray Nadeem tries to save his family from Kingpin
Meanwhile, Wellers informed Fisk that Page was apprehended by the police, due to Nadeem's intervention. Enraged, Fisk brutally murdered Wellers and ordered the group of mercenaries to find and eliminate Nadeem. Nadeem arrived at his house where he tried to take his wife and son away from Fisk's anger, however, he was too late, as mercenaries surrounded his house. Nadeem fought mercenaries back, as he was also accompanied by Daredevil who revealed his identity to Nadeem and asked him for help to testify against Fisk and get him behind the bars again.[1]
