MacDonald "Mac" Gargan is the sadistic leader of the Scorpions street gang in New York City, who started a gang war with the 110th Street Gang after trying to take over their territory. Purchasing and using the Scorpion suit from Otto Octavius, he became formidable in combat against the 110th Street Gang and Spider-Man, the latter of whom he nearly murdered brutally. In his final clash against Spider-Man and Tombstone, the former almost killed him but then left Scorpion to be taken into custody by the Police Department of New York City.
