"Your mother?"
"She was a nurse in a TB ward. Got hit. Couldn't shake it."
―Army Recruiter and Steve Rogers[src]

Sarah Rogers was the mother of Steve Rogers.

"Buck, do you remember me?"
"Your mom's name was Sarah."
Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes[src]

Sarah Rogers married Joseph Rogers, and had a son named Steve in 1918. A few months before Steve was born, Joseph died during World War I as consequence of a mustard gas attack, forcing Sarah to raise Steve by herself.

Sarah worked at a tuberculosis ward as a nurse. She soon caught the disease, which she died of in 1936. Sarah was buried next to her husband.[2]
