Sarah Lieberman is the wife of David Lieberman. David died which sent her into a life of single motherhood. A year afterwards, she accidentally drove into Pete Castiglione. They made up and hit it off right away. He regularly came by to help out around the house. She soon found out that David was in fact alive and Castiglione was the imfamous murderer, Frank Castle. David and Castle were working together to take down William Rawlins and Anvil. After they defeated them, David moved back in with Sarah.
Biography[]
Meeting David Lieberman[]
- "She was just shy. So we're talking, go back to her place, we're both waiting for the other one to make the move, you know? And hours go by, and we're just talking and eating toast, so much toast. And finally at like, 5:00 in the morning, she kisses me. We've been together ever since."

A drunken Sarah was at a Halloween party when she met David Lieberman, who was in a popsicle costume. At around five in the morning, she kissed him. The two eventually got married and had two kids David used to grab her keys to fill her car tank because she hated going to the gas station.[1]
Family Times[]
One night, Sarah and David had a talk about how he found a video of a war crime. Sarah was worried reporting it would put the family in danger. David still wanted to do it because it is the right thing.[2]
Lieberman's First "Death"[]
The next day, Sarah took David and the children out; with the traffic crowded and unmoved, the family conversed amongst themselves. Soon, however, David left the car, telling the children to stay, while Sarah called out to him and asked for an explanation for why he needed to step out. Eventually, she, too, left the vehicle and chased after the officers. Sarah watched in horror as agents wielded guns at her husband and fired a shot into his chest, causing her to wail and weep.[2]

An Accident[]
- "Uh, I didn't mean to ambush you with the whole dead husband thing. It's just, you know, new people, do I lie? But then that feels so disloyal to his memories. You must think I'm crazy."

A year later, Sarah had readjusted as a single mother. She picked up her kids and drive them home. She had to explain to Zach Lieberman that he could not play with his friend despite Zach already telling his friend, yes. Later, she was pulling into her driveway when she accidentally hit Pete Castiglione with her car. Frightened, she brought him inside for help. He washed up as she made him coffee. She had to explain David Lieberman's passing. When Castiglione was going to leave, she told him to stay, still feeling bad. She then broke down crying over the event and remembering her husband's death.
After the two talked, Castiglione left. Sarah went to pull her car into the garage, but the garage door got jammed. Almost breaking down again, Sarah got help from Castiglione, who fixed it.[3]
Insurance Problems[]
Sarah was watching television with Leo when she told her to go to bed. She then called her insurance company to fix the headlight, but they wouldn't until Pete Castiglione signed a waiver. She called Castiglione to ask for that favor. When Castiglione showed up to her house, she told Zach to do his work. However, Zach kept refusing to do so. When she reminded him there will be consequences, he angrily went up to his room. Leo then grunted in the kitchen. Sarah walked over to find Leo struggling to fix the garbage disposal. Castiglione stepped in to help.
As Castiglione was leaving, they heard Zach being mean to Leo. Sarah made a sarcastic remark about not wanting kids before realizing her rudeness and apologized. Castiglione pointed out that it sucks the way David left them. Sarah took exception to the comment, assuring him that just because she is pissed off doesn't mean she doesn't miss him like crazy. Castiglione quickly apologized before leaving. However, he turned around and insisted on fixing her headlight.[4]
Dinner[]
Pete Castiglione came by the next day and fixed the headlight. Leo brought him inside and convinced Sarah to invite Castiglione to dinner. He accepted. However, as dinner came, there was no Castiglione. Sarah disappointingly told her kids to eat.[5] The next day, Sarah confronted Zach regarding his new skateboard. Zach thought Leo tattled on him for stealing it. Zach punched Leo and Sarah had to break it up. Later, Castiglione finally arrived. They talked, despite Sarah being annoyed. She offered a glass of wine, but Castiglione kindly rejected. On the couch, Sarah complained about her children that they are hurting and she doesn't know how to help them. Castiglione gave her a nice talk saying that she will get through it.[6]
A Drink[]
Annoyed with Zach Lieberman, Sarah let him play with his friends so she didn't have to deal with him. As she was walking out of her house when she was scared by Pete Castiglione, who came to give her flowers as a thank you. She invited him for a drink. Afterwards, she found him fixing a device next to a painting. She then opened up another bottle of wine. She started talking about love and how she didn't think she could ever have that again. Castiglione told Sarah that she was too hard on herself. She offered him to stay for food, but he declined. As he left, she hugged him, but eventually gave in and kissed him. Castiglione backed off quickly and she realized what she had done. Later, she found a knife in Zach's backpack. She called Castiglione saying that she thought he wanted to hurt someone. Castiglione told her to take a walk while he talked to Zach.[1]
Suspicious Intruders[]
Eventually, Sarah and her family were watching the news when every channel started showing that infamous murderer, Frank Castle was alive. Castle was actually Pete Castiglione. Sarah told Zach Lieberman to change the channel. Zach angrily marched upstairs while Sarah hugged Leo Lieberman. Afterwards, Zach helped Sarah cut peppers for dinner. When someone knocked on the door, Zach went to answer it. An officer walked in saying he got a call from the Frank Castle tip line, although Sarah claimed she didn't call anyone. The officer asked where her daughter was. Sarah quietly motioned for Leo to get upstairs. The officer then told Sarah they were coming with him. Realizing it wasn't an officer, Sarah yelled at Zach to run while she grabbed a knife. However, she was forced to put her knife down when a second officer came. Tied up in a warehouse, Sarah pleaded to be let go. Zach apologized for calling the hot line. Sarah told him it wasn't his fault.[7]

Lieberman's Second "Death"[]
- "God damn you! You bastard! You bastard, what did you do? What did you do? We saw you die! We saw you die!"

Both Sarah and Zach Lieberman were released free but were forced to carry leaking containers of gasoline. Her son called to her, as both stared at a living David Lieberman. Astounded yet afraid, both mother and son walked towards him and Frank Castle. Though she tried to talk to him, reaching for his arm, David told Sarah to continue walking. However, Dinah Madani and other agents rushed to the scene, leaving Sarah and Zach to hurry, while David tried to extinguish the flames. While Sarah took cover behind a van, she witnessed as David is shot again, collapsing to the ground motionless. She shrieked and cried once more.
Later at Homeland Security Headquarters, Sarah was informed by Madani that David was alive and that the collapse was a ruse. When she met eyes with him again, she approached him and began shoving, frustrated and sorrowful over being alive for the whole year. The two sat down and David explained why he lied.[8]
Back to a Whole Family[]
The family was brought to a safe house. Sarah read a magazine while David Lieberman played go fish with Zach and Leo. Sarah said they needed to talk and brought David into the restroom where they stripped and started having sex quietly. Days later, Sarah cooked a turkey in anticipation for her husband's return along with Frank Castle. David walked in and hugged his kids. He then kissed Sarah, who asked where Castle was.[9]

- In the comics, Jan O'Reilly was David Lieberman's fiancée, who left him when she discovered his criminal ways. Unaware at the time that she was pregnant with Lieberman's son, she married another man and adopted the married name of Jan Frohike, giving her son the name of Louis Frohike.
