History[]
Tony Stark's Flights[]
Tony Stark drove to the Stark Industries Aviation Division to take his trip to Afghanistan. Followed by Happy Hogan, who would carry his bags, Stark got to the plane three hours late. James Rhodes was annoyed to have been left waiting for so long, but Stark was not bothered at all.
When Stark tested for the first time the flight capabilities of his Mark II Iron Man armor, he flew over Santa Monica and was seen by two children at Pacific Park.[1]
Alternate Universes[]
Test Flight[]
In an alternate universe, Tony Stark flew his Mark III Iron Man armor past Pacific Park in Santa Monica.[2]
Tony Stark's Delayed Flight[]
In an alternate universe, Tony Stark arrived late to the Stark Industries Aviation Division and claimed to have car trouble, passing James Rhodes before Rhodes could say anything. Rhodes followed Stark onto the Stark Industries Private Jet and scolded Stark for being late, but was interrupted when a flight attendant brought towels. The two men remained silent until the plane took off and left Santa Monica.
Stark later returned and built a suit of armor which allowed him to fly to Pacific Park in Santa Monica. He saw a young boy on a Ferris wheel and connected with him. Stark then flew into the sky to a high altitude, causing the suit to ice over and make him nearly crash, but he caught himself and returned to his mansion.[3]
James Rhodes' Wait[]
- "I was standing out there for three hours!"
- ―Tony Stark[src]
In an alternate universe, James Rhodes was kept waiting at the Stark Industries Aviation Division on the Stark Industries Private Jet. He called Pepper Potts, who claimed that Tony Stark had left for the aviation division an hour prior. Stark then eventually arrived with Happy Hogan, and Rhodes scolded him for being late while Stark boarded the plane and Hogan packed his bag. The plane then took off, leaving for Afghanistan.
Later, Stark tested his Mark II Iron Man armor by flying it to Santa Monica. He flew near Pacific Park, and people looked on from the Santa Monica Pier as Stark flew near the Ferris wheel, causing it to buzz. He then flew upwards to test how high he could fly, but ultimately descended out of control and returned to his mansion.[4]
Mark II Test Flight[]
In order to test out the Mark II Iron Man Armor, Tony Stark traveled from his mansion to the Santa Monica Pier. Upon reaching the pier, people looked on in awe as they saw the Mark II zoom past a ferris wheel.[5]
