Samuel "Sam" Chung[2] is a local citizen in New York City who operates the Bayard Community Center. He is friends with Colleen Wing who often came to him for help. She asked him to protect Sherry Yang as well as BB. Yang was the leader of Yangsi Gonshi, so it worried Chung greatly. His fears came true when Davos and Ryhno's Gang attacked the community center. However, he was defeated by Wing and Danny Rand. Chung then resumed work at the community center and even planned to hold a memorial service for the late BB.

Helping Colleen[]
- "So, I have some bad news about the Frank Choi thing. Julie, the bookkeeper, remembers him coming for help with a loan when he first signed his commercial lease."
"Uh-huh."

Sam Chung worked at Bayard Community Center with Colleen Wing. She asked him to help her find Frank Choi and he agreed. They talked about it while setting up for casino night. Chung voiced his worries over Sherry Yang, who was hosting the event. However, he also knew not to judge as she had countless community services, despite her marriage to gang leader, Hai-Qing Yang.[1]
A Safe Place[]
- "She's been here since you dropped her off last night. And the others arrived a few hours later."
"Liu, I recognize. Are those guys Hatchet soldiers?" - ―Sam Chung and Colleen Wing[src]
Chung was at Bayard Community Center late at night when Colleen Wing and Danny Rand arrived bring Sherry Yang. Chung helped hide her. A few hours later, many more Triad men arrived to talk. The next day, Chung was guarding a door to a Yangsi Gonshi meeting when Wing and Rand arrived. Chung was worried that Bayard would accidentally get involved.[3]
Attack on Bayard Community Center[]
- "Guys, I think we've got a problem. They showed up a few minutes ago. I called 911, but I didn't know what to say."

Chung grew even more worried when he heard Sherry Yang wanting to kill. He debated calling the police, but instead notified Colleen Wing. Wing and Danny Rand arrived just in time for Ryhno's Gang to appear outside. Chung immediately called the police. Then Davos attacked. Wing said they needed to sedative and Chung got them some. He then watched as Rand took on Davos despite being injured. Rand used the needle to sedate Davos and take him in. Chung left with Yang afterwards.[4]
Wing returned after defeating Davos and asked Chung about putting together a memorial service for BB so that they could share his story. Chung agreed to the idea before pointing Wing in the direction of Yang, who had stayed to talk to the police.[5]

- In the comics, Sam Chung is an expertly trained gymnast from China who became sidekick of Daredevil known as Blindspot.
- In all of his appearances, the character is simply credited as "Sam". M. Raven Metzner confirmed that the character's full name, which was also listed on the call sheet, is indeed Sam Chung.[2]
