Salem is a historic coastal city in the U.S. state of Massachusetts.

Trial of Agatha Harkness[]
In 1693, during the Salem witch trials, Agatha Harkness was tried by her coven, led by her own mother Evanora Harkness, for practicing dark witchcraft. However, the execution went horrible wrong; using her powers, Agatha drained the life force of her intended executioners and proceeded to kill Evanora when she tried to kill her by her own.[1]
Producing Ouija Boards[]
The company Parker Brothers was founded in Salem and produced ouija boards. One of these ouija boards ended up on the Witches' Road to be used by Agatha Harkness' Coven.[2]
