The Sakaaran Laser Rifles were a set of weaponized firearms from Sakaar.
History[]
The Sakaaran laser rifles were a standard weapon for the members of the Sakaaran Guards.
During the Escape from Sakaar, Valkyrie was able to steal a rifle and gave it to Korg so that he could lead his Sakaaran Rebellion to create a distraction and enable the Revengers to leave the planet. Meanwhile, both Thor and Loki also seized a pair of rifles and used them to take down a whole squad of Sakaaran guards. Loki was briefly threatened by a guard holding his own rifle, but the weapon was destroyed by Thor. Thor and Loki later discarded their weapons.
Korg later used his laser rifle with high proficiency during the Battle for Asgard, taking down many Berserkers either by firing the rifle at them or by hitting them by using the rifle as a concussive weapon.[1] Much later, Kork would once again put his rifle to good use during the Battle of Earth, notably using it to strike Cull Obsidian.[2]
Alternate Universe[]
Korg was also equipped with a Sakaaran laser rifle during his helpless attempt to defend Sakaar from Ultron and his Sentries, but was quickly overpowered and killed.[3]
Capabilities[]
The Sakaaran laser rifles were quite standard weapons, able to fire powerful energy spheres that could strike and take down the wielder's opponents. Due to its size, shape and weight, the weapon could also be used as a makeshift mace by strong enough users like Korg.
