The Sakaar Grand Prix was a set of chariot-style races on the planet of Sakaar.

With his twenty-first birthday approaching, the Grandmaster set up a chariot-style grand prix in Grand Arena. Just before the race began, Tony Stark crashed through the window of the Grandmaster Palace. The Grandmaster convinced Stark to stay and watch the race and told him he would send him back to Earth afterward.[1]

With Tony Stark watching from his booth, the Grandmaster introduced the first race of the Sakaar Grand Prix. As the race progressed, Stark watched Valkyrie very closely. When Valkyrie crashed, the audience began to throw tin cans and Chinchillas at her. The Grandmaster then released his champion Snuffy into the race, who started chasing Korg. This caused Stark to suit-up partially in his Mark VII armor and fly into the race.[1]
Now on the track Stark confronted Snuffy, attempting to blast the champion with his repulsors, however, they malfunctioned due to only having half his suit. Just before Snuffy reached Stark and Korg, he was blown up by Gamora, who then turned her attention on Stark and Korg. However, before Gamora could kill Stark, both her and Stark were subdued by Obedience Disks.[1]

Building himself a new Iron Man suit, Tony Stark challenged the Grandmaster to a second race for control of the planet which the Grandmaster accepted. Stark was aided by Valkyrie and Korg while he worked to convince Gamora, who was forced to join the race by the Grandmaster, to turn on her father.[1]
Although Topaz succeeded in destroying Stark's chariot, Stark transformed his new armor into an Arc Reactor-powered race car which was able to evade and survive the Grandmaster's numerous cheating attempts, ultimately winning the race. The Grandmaster attempted to claim a tie which would allow him to choose the winner. When Stark said he won fair and square, the Grandmaster told Topaz to kill Stark, but Valkyrie intervened in Topaz's attempt knocking the Melt Stick off her vehicle, resulting in the Grandmaster getting melted instead. With the Grandmaster overthrown, the people of Sakaar cheered anointing Valkyrie as their new king.[1]
Aftermath[]
With the Grandmaster melted, Valkyrie became the new king of Sakaar and made Korg special counsel to the king. Valkyrie attempted to convince Tony Stark to stay, however, Stark said he needed to return to Pepper Potts. Before Stark left, Gamora found him and convinced him to help assassinate Thanos[1]
