The Служба внешней разведки Российской Федерации (СВР РФ) or Sluzhba vneshney razvedki Rossiyskoy Federatsii (SVR RF), translated in English as the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation, is Russia's external intelligence agency, mainly for civilian affairs.

Anton Ivanov's unit was sent to the Burkov Mining Facility to retrieve an object from an unknown origin. However, the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents Phil Coulson and Melinda May were already at the location searching for the object. As Coulson distracted the SVR unit, May ran off the object. The unit drove Coulson after May, but were attacked by her, lost Coulson and failed to retrieve the object. For their failure, the unit member, with the exception of Ivanov, were executed.[1]
