"I'm taking a transport jet back to the Hub where I can quarterback the field teams via satellite. Someone's gonna have to pull your asses out of the fire when things go south."
Victoria Hand to Phil Coulson[src]

The S.H.I.E.L.D. Satellites were a system of satellites designed by S.H.I.E.L.D.. Many of which where sent out of orbit with the use of the Lemurian Star. The system went down following the HYDRA Uprising.

History[]

"The satellite's picking up another electrostatic event not twenty kilometers from here."
Leo Fitz[src]

The system detected the electrostatic event from the Chitauri Virus killing Frank Whalen.[1]

S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters used the system to find a train for Phil Coulson that he and Grant Ward fled when they were chased by mercenaries hired by Cybertek.[2]

Skye used the system to track Grant Ward and Lorelei.[3]

Project Insight Satellite

Coulson's Team used the system to trace the Tag Rounds fired on Deathlok by Agent Felix Blake.[4]

Eric Koenig informed Skye that S.H.I.E.L.D. satellites were no longer operational when she wanted to use them to see what happened during the Raid of the Fridge.[5]

Alternate Universe Versions[]

Following the Battle of Gulmira, S.H.I.E.L.D. tried to hack into Tony Stark's computers, but Stark detected the hack and traced it to a S.H.I.E.L.D. Satellite owned through a shell corporation, and S.H.I.E.L.D. was able to masquerade the hack as business espionage before Stark destroyed the satellite.[6]

Design and Capabilities[]

"The satellites can read a terrorist's DNA before he steps outside his spider hole. We're gonna neutralize a lot of threats before they even happen."
Nick Fury to Steve Rogers[src]
