Locating Tony Stark[]
Jasper Sitwell monitored activity in Afghanistan in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s facility in Los Angeles when he noticed a hot spot of activity near Kunar. He reported it to Nick Fury, noting that the flying object was too small to be an aircraft. The object crash landed, causing Sitwell to lose contact. Realizing that it could be a lead on Tony Stark, Fury ordered Sitwell to contact the United States Department of Defense.[1]
Pepper Potts' Visit[]
Phil Coulson brought Pepper Potts to the office, where Potts told Coulson about Obadiah Stane's involvement in Tony Stark's kidnapping and attempted murder, as well as the development of a large armor. Potts called James Rhodes from the office to tell him about what happened as Coulson and a team of agents prepared to return to Stark Industries' headquarters.[2]
