Meeting Muneeba Khan[]

As an inhabitant of Jersey City, Ruby met and became friends with Muneeba Khan, eventually getting to know Khan's whole family pretty well.[2] Along with other women, she was part of a group of friends which the children and teenagers often referred to as the IlluminAunties. She often welcomed Khan and her daughter into her textile shop of Saeed Fashions.[3]

Ruby gossips about Fatima
A few days before the wedding of Aamir Khan and Tyesha Hillman, Ruby was visited in Saeed Fashions by Aamir's mother Muneeba and sister Kamala. Ruby immediately started gossiping with Muneeba, talking about how a girl they both knew, Fatima, had broken her engagement and traveled throughout Europe, eventually meeting a man named Rob in Belgium. Unlike Kamala, who approved of Fatima's choice to discover the world and herself, both Ruby and Muneeba were highly critical of this choice. Ruby then looked at the dress Kamala was trying and declared that it was no fit to her, which Muneeba agreed to.[6]

During a party held to celebrate Eid at the Islamic Masjid of Jersey City, Ruby and her friends from the IlluminAunties were approached by Kamala Khan, who was campaigning for Nakia Bahadir as the new mosque board member and inquired about her great-grandmother Aisha. As the other women shared gossip about Aisha, notably involving adultery, Ruby stated that she had heard Aisha had killed a man during the Partition of India.
Ruby then witnessed Hameed nearly falling from the mosque's minaret's window, asking the crowd to call 9-1-1. She then watched as Night Light rescued Hameed and prevented him from falling thanks to her powers.[3]
Aamir Khan's Wedding[]

As a close friend to the Khan family, Ruby was invited to the wedding between Aamir Khan and Tyesha Hillman. She took part in the mehndi held at the Khan Residence before the ceremony and, on that occasion, she asked Abdullah about the recent visit of Damage Control, who she had initially mistaken for the FBI, at the Islamic Masjid of Jersey City. However, Ruby was told by Abdullah not to worry about the agents.

Ruby then attended the party held for the newly wed, discussing the wedding customs with Bruno Carrelli, before taking part in a surprise dancing show for Aamir and Hillman, during which she danced alongside Kamala Khan, Nakia Bahadir and Carrelli. Ruby then continued enjoying the party until it was interrupted by the fire alarm being activated, forcing her and all the other guests to evacuate the building. As Zara insisted that she had seen Kamala pulling the alarm, Ruby dismissed her claims, assuming that Zara's eyesight was so poor that her driving license had been revoked.[2]
Battle at Coles Academic High School[]
Like many other inhabitants of Jersey City, Ruby was alerted of the confrontation between Kamala Khan and her friends against Damage Control at Coles Academic High School thanks to Zoe Zimmer's live stream on social media. She thus drove all the way to the school and joined the crowd in witnessing the attack of Damage Control on Khan and Kamran, as well as Khan's powers as Ms. Marvel. In the heat of the confrontation, Ruby was nearly killed alongside other bystanders when Kamran's powers projected a car into their direction, only for them to be savec by Khan, which Ruby cheered at.
Once Khan helped Kamran escape from the scene, Ruby went with the rest of the crowd to shield Khan against the Damage Control operatives, and stood right in front of Barrie to stop him from moving forward, citing how Khan had saved the lives of everyone around them. Although the operatives progressed anyway, Khan was able to leave the scene thanks to her powers. In the aftermath of the battle, Ruby recorded a video on TikTok, stating that even if she knew who Ms. Marvel was, she would never disclose the information on social media.[1]
