"Roxy Glass. She runs covert ops and tactical. Kind of the brains of the operation."
Deke Shaw to Alphonso Mackenzie[src]

Agent Roxy Glass is a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and a member of the Deke Squad.

Biography[]

Joining the Deke Squad[]

Roxy Glass was recruited by Deke Shaw to join his S.H.I.E.L.D. team and took the cover of being a band. Roxy played guitar on the band,[1] which opened for Twisted Sister.[2] Shaw consistently told Glass and the team about how much he admired his S.H.I.E.L.D. director, Alphonso Mackenzie. Shaw consistently visited a young boy named Alphonso Mackenzie, who Glass assumed to be the older Mackenzie's son. Glass performed with the team at Swayze's Bar in 1983, playing the song "Don't You (Forget About Me)," which Shaw claimed to have written. Shaw took Mackenzie to the Lighthouse, where the Deke Squad huddled and Glass assured the team that they could impress Mackenzie. However, the demonstration went wrong, and Ronnie Chang accidentally shot Glass with a paintball. Mackenzie was not impressed and scolded Shaw for forming the team, resolving to leave.[1]

Attack on the Lighthouse[]

Glass stopped Alphonso Mackenzie and said that Deke Shaw consistently spoke about how good of a person he was. She scolded Mackenzie for abandoning his son, confusing Mackenzie. They were interrupted by the appearance of a Sibyl-Bot, and they took cover as the robot opened fire. Mackenzie and Glass hid in a closet, where Mackenzie told Glass that the robots that were attacking killed his parents, and swore to make it pay. Mackenzie and Glass found the rest of the Deke Squad being attacked by a Sibyl-Bot, which they destroyed together.

The team agreed to welcome Mackenzie, and they held a briefing to plan their defense. Mackenzie made a plan using the strategy the team used during the demonstration earlier, as Glass stopped the Sibyl-Bot from moving closer to the team while Olga Pachinko planted explosives under it. Pachinko was injured and the group retreated. Mackenzie told Shaw to make a distraction, while Glass threw an explosive at the robot. Mackenzie shot the explosive, causing it to destroy the robot. The team had a party celebrating their victory, and Glass sat with Pachinko. Pachinko told Glass that she loved her, but said it in Russian, so Glass did not understand.[1]

Joining S.H.I.E.L.D.[]

Glass was present when Melinda May and Yo-Yo Rodriguez came into the Lighthouse, reuniting with Alphonso Mackenzie and Deke Shaw.[1] Since Shaw was not authorized to make Glass an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., she joined S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy and began training. When Mackenzie's S.H.I.E.L.D. needed to use the Lighthouse to fight the Chronicoms, Glass greeted them and told them they could use it. Phil Coulson congratulated Glass on getting into the Academy, and Glass said that she hoped the Deke Squad could be reunited. Glass then left the future S.H.I.E.L.D. to use the Lighthouse for their purposes.[2]

Personality[]

"You need an ass-kicking. That was not cool."
"Yeah, well, that's between me and Deke."
"Maybe, but he's my buddy, and yours, too."

To be added

Abilities[]

  • Marksman: While using a paintball gun in a mock fight for Alphonso Mackenzie, Glass did multiple agile moves before shooting a mannequin while off balance. Her skills also extended to throwing accuracy as she threw a bomb directly above a Sibyl-Bot, allowing Mackenzie to shoot the bomb and killing the bot.
  • Tactician: When realizing Deke Squad was not an actual branch of S.H.I.E.L.D., Glass went on to go to the S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy, where she became a well-rounded agent and made deals with Alphonso Mackenzie and S.H.I.E.L.D. to use the Lighthouse.
  • Expert Performer: Glass was a guitarist on the Deke Squad, which came out with many hit songs and performed in many places. However, Deke Squad was just a front for S.H.I.E.L.D.

Facilities[]

  • Lighthouse: Glass operated out of the Lighthouse along with the rest of the Deke Squad, where she trained to be a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. She demonstrated her training to Alphonso Mackenzie along with the rest of the team. Glass defended the Lighthouse from Sibyl's attack and celebrated the team's victory with them after. She worked with the Deke Squad until Mackenzie's S.H.I.E.L.D. arrived and the Deke Squad was absorbed into S.H.I.E.L.D.. Glass later greeted Mackenzie's S.H.I.E.L.D. team when they needed to use the Lighthouse to fight the Chronicoms.
