"This Roxxon Power Plant closed down years ago because of safety violations. But if Lucy Bauer can get it operational, it's got more than enough power for her experiment."
Leo Fitz[src]

The Roxxon Power Plant was an abandoned Roxxon Corporation facility located in Los Angeles, which was reclaimed by Lucy Bauer in an attempt to reverse her transdimensional condition.

History[]

"This plant was shut down for a reason. It could blow at any time."
"Well, then, you better work faster."
Lucy Bauer and Eli Morrow[src]

Initially, the Roxxon Power Plant served as a classic power plant run by the Roxxon Corporation. However, it was eventually shut down for safety reasons, and the facility remained abandoned for years.

Eli Morrow is forced to work for Lucy Bauer

Years later, Lucy Bauer, a former employee at Momentum Labs who had been trapped inside a Quantum Battery by her co-worker Eli Morrow, was released in a transdimensional state. Seeking to get rid of this condition, Bauer reclaimed the Darkhold and kidnapped Morrow in the South Ridge Penitentiary. She took both into the Roxxon Power Plant, which could deliver enough power for her plans, and ordered Morrow to help her to replicate the experiment which had turned her into a transdimensional being.

However, Bauer had caught the attention of S.H.I.E.L.D., who wanted to secure the Darkhold. Leo Fitz identified the Roxxon Power Plant as Bauer's base of operations, prompting S.H.I.E.L.D. to go and investigate and release Morrow, who they thought to be entirely innocent. A S.H.I.E.L.D. team led by Phil Coulson, accompanied by the Ghost Rider, stormed the facility.

The team split up to complete their objectives. As S.H.I.E.L.D. carried on the exploration of the power plant, Ghost Rider killed Bauer after learning the truth about his uncle Morrow, who actually intended to gain superhuman abilities. Meanwhile, Fitz and Alphonso Mackenzie unsuccessfully tried to shut down the power plant, prompting Mackenzie to leave the power plant to find an EMP device. Coulson and Melinda May arrived in the reactor chamber and upon finding the Darkhold, Coulson gave it to May so she could take it back to the Zephyr One.

While Mackenzie and May were both out of the power plant, Morrow joined the reactor room as well. He realized that the Darkhold was gone and told Coulson to stay away from the Quantum Batteries he had designed. Coulson told Morrow that S.H.I.E.L.D. was here to rescue him, but he soon found out that Morrow had been pursuing his own agenda all along. Despite Coulson's attempts to stop him, Morrow activated the Quantum Particle Generator. The process released a powerful energy burst which resulted in Fitz, Coulson and the Ghost Rider, who were still in the power plant, to be trapped in the facility.[1]

As for Morrow, he successfully obtained matter creation powers. The first part of his plan being complete, Morrow made his way to exit the power plant. He was found by a team of four S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, who noticed that he was armed. Morrow quickly murdered them with his newfound powers and left the power plant, creating a massive carbon wall behind him so that no one could follow him.

Ghost Rider, Phil Coulson and Leo Fitz find themselves trapped between dimensions

Following the outburst, May and Mackenzie returned into the power plant to investigate. They tried to locate Coulson and Fitz, but to no avail. However, unbeknownst to them, they were right next to them in the facility, but in a transdimensional state which kept them from interacting with the Earthly Plane. Still, Coulson and Fitz followed Mackenzie and May as they found the deceased S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. Coulson and Fitz also found Ghost Rider, who was also trapped between dimensions and had watched helpless as Morrow murdered the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.

Knowing that Morrow had escaped and being unable to locate their friends, Mackenzie and May left the power plant, ignorant that Coulson, Fitz and Ghost Rider returned with them in the Zephyr One.[2]
