"I couldn't protect the boy back then. I can now."
"How about protecting the rest of us from him?"
"He's just one human man. You're something else."
―Ronnie Velasco and Jessica Jones[src]

Chief Ronnie Velasco is an officer of the Wappinger Falls Police Department.

Biography[]

Death of Donny Sallinger[]

"That must have been a terrible shock for his family."
"It sure was."
"And Gregory Sallinger, Donny's brother, was he there?"
"Greg was on a school trip. I was the deputy they sent to bring him home."
Jessica Jones and Ronnie Velasco[src]

Working as a Deputy for the Wappinger Falls Police Department, Ronnie Velasco was informed about the tractor accident which resulted in the death of Donny Sallinger. Velasco was sent to bring Gregory Sallinger home before the investigation of Donny's death. Velasco was concerned that their father lost his mind to grief and took it out on Gregory, but Velasco was unable to help him.

Some time later, a Wappinger Falls resident named Bobby McBurty stole a snowblower. Although Velasco knew that McBurty had done it, since his statement didn't add up, Velasco allowed McBurty to get away with it.[1]

Private Investigation[]

"Your little Greg... he killed seven people."
"Not the boy I knew."
"Donny was his first."
"He wasn't. But Donny's dad lost his mind to grief after Donny died. He took it out on Greg."
Jessica Jones and Ronnie Velasco[src]

Velasco approached Jessica Jones, who visited Wappinger Falls Police Station, claiming that she was hired by the tractor company that settled with the Sallinger family. Jones questioned Velasco about the incident and asked her for the official police report. However, Velasco refused because Jones had no court order. Velasco then explained that she knew that Jones was lying, as she was informed that Jones attacked Gregory Sallinger.

Although Jones told her that Sallinger murdered several people, including his brother, Velasco did not believe her. Velasco insisted that Sallinger could not be a serial killer, saying that she could not save him from his father but that she could save him now. Jones replied that Sallinger was a dangerous person, however, Velasco stated that Jones was more dangerous than he ever could be and still refused to show her the report. Jones then asked to use a restroom and Velasco allowed her to use it.

Moments later, Velasco and other Wappinger Falls Police Department officers heard a car alarm and a scream and rushed outside of the station. Velasco found Trish Walker, who was stuck in a car, saying that she accidentally dropped her keys and turned on the alarm, which was triggering for her. Velasco tried to comfort Walker, taking her out of the car, while Jones successfully stole the police reports and escaped.[1]

Confronting Jessica Jones[]

"What do you think you're doing? Jessica Jones, I need you to step away. This is private property. Put your hands up!"
"Stay back."
―Ronnie Velasco and Jessica Jones[src]

Velasco was contacted by Ana Silva, who informed her about Jessica Jones questioning them about the disappearance of their son. Velasco arrived at the Silva Residence, where she found Jones, demanding her to leave immediately, although Manuel Silva insisted to allow Jones to continue. However, Jones suddenly entered the backyard and Velasco stopped Ana and Manuel from following her for their own safety.

Velasco and the Silvas saw Jones removing the fence and starting digging the backyard under the fence. Velasco pulled her sidearm, demanding Jones to step away, but Jones ignored her and kept digging. Trish Walker distracted Velasco, recording her on a phone, so she had to put her gun down. Jones then suddenly found a bag containing the corpse of Nathan Silva, who was murdered by Gregory Sallinger, much to the horror of his parents and Velasco.

Velasco contacted the Wappinger Falls Police Department and ordered them to take the corpse to the coroner and then asked Jones to return her files she stole. Jones returned her files and Velasco thanked her for assistance, wishing Jones and Walker a good day.[1]
