While working for Thanos, Ronan discovered the location of the Orb on Morag, which unbeknownst to him contained the Power Stone. Upon being notified of the discovery, Thanos dispatched Gamora and Nebula to the Dark Aster to aid him. When Gamora informed Thanos that Ronan would not be pleased by this decision, Thanos informed her that Ronan's obsession with eradicating Xandar clouded his judgment. However, due to Thanos' discovery of another Nebula in the vicinity who had come from an alternate future timeline and had already stolen the Power Stone from Morag, Ronan's mission to acquire the Orb was terminated.
