Captain Steven Grant "Steve" Rogers is a super soldier with enhanced physical abilities who goes by Captain America. When he fought Thanos in the Battle of Wakanda, he accidentally grazed the Time Stone in Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet, causing a paradox that merged the 17th and 21st Centuries together, rewriting everyone's lives. Losing his memories, he became the well-known outlaw Rogers Hood and founded a band of thieves and merrymen with Winter Soldier and Ant-Man. Eventually, Rogers was approached by Captain Carter to help steal the Scepter from King Thor so she could locate the Forerunner who started this crisis and undo it. As their plan succeeded, Carter identified Rogers as the Forerunner, and he willingly used the device created by Tony Stark and the Time Stone to restore his world.

Captain Carter & Rogers Hood

Returning to their hideout, Carter revealed that she was from another universe and that she planned to steal the Scepter from King Thor. Rogers asked about the version of himself from Carter's universe, but she withheld that information. Rogers agreed to help Carter, knowing that his Carter would do the same. Suddenly they were attacked by Royal Yellowjackets, so Rogers and Carter fought together to defeat them. However, they were outnumbered, so Carter told Rogers to find Tony Stark as she stayed behind.[2]

Rogers told Carter to steal the Scepter while the rest fought the Einherjar. Rogers challenged Harold Hogan to fight, and the two dueled, but Rogers accidentally sliced off Hogan's feather, angering him and causing him to turn into Freak. Rogers was no match for Freak and was caught in his grip but was saved by Hulk. As the rift continued to grow out of control, Rogers went to rescue Winter Soldier from Red Skull.[2]

Captain Carter managed to steal the Scepter before the Time Stone revealed that Rogers was the Forerunner, the person responsible for the anomaly. Rogers remembered the Battle of Wakanda and realized what had to be done to save the reality. Carter did not want to let Rogers go, but he comforted her, saying that they get their happy ending somewhere in the Multiverse. Rogers then pressed the Time Stone and sent himself back to his time.[2]

Trivia[]

  • Rogers Hood's likeness is based off of Chris Evans.
  • Rogers Hood is based on Robin Hood, a heroic outlaw from English folklore who stole from the rich and gave to the poor.
  • In the comics, Steve Rogers was sent back in time to 1602 by Zebediah Killgrave and arrived in Native America, where he was taken in by the Roanoke colony under the name Rojhaz.

Behind the Scenes[]

  • Steve Rogers' story was changed from the original Marvel 1602 comics to avoid having a white man becoming indigenous American. They instead opted to have him be similar to Robin Hood at the suggestion of A.C. Bradley and Ryan Little.[3] Neil Gaiman, who wrote the original comic, was not consulted in this or any other change in the episode from his story.[4]
