Hey y'all! Looking for another version of the Robbery of the Russian Nuclear Facility? See its event hub!
Shaw Giving Advice
"Come on. I never totally fit in with the gang, anyway."
The subject of this article is part of an MCU franchise story that has been officially deemed to be non-canonical to the primary continuity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Its events instead occur in another reality within the Multiverse. This universe is designated by the Marvel Cinematic Universe Wiki as the "A.I.M. Operative Controller Universe".

"They're completely insane. A nuclear facility?"
Tony Stark[src]

The Robbery of the Russian Nuclear Facility was an attempt by A.I.M. to get new power sources for their Stark Industries weapons.

Background[]

"It's the first time I've wanted to know what particular phylum of lowlife deviants is using my weapons."

A.I.M. was one of Stark Industries' top buyers, using their weapons technology for their own purposes. However, Tony Stark decided to end production of the company's weapons, which were limited by their power supply. Stark began a quest to destroy all Stark Industries weapons which had been sold, starting with the defeat of the Maggia.[1]

"Advanced Idea Mechanics. If they're so advanced, why can't they build their own weapons without using my technology?"
Iron Man[src]

A.I.M. attacked an active nuclear facility in Russia and took over, opening several dry casks and exposing the spent nuclear fuel. The United States Air Force attempted to send soldiers in, but were unable due to the radiation. James Rhodes then decided to send in Tony Stark, whose Mark III armor could protect him from radiation.

Titanium Man

Stark approached the facility and determined where the A.I.M. soldiers were. Stark fought through the soldiers and was told by J.A.R.V.I.S. about the opened dry casks, which were leaking spent nuclear fuel. Stark defeated the soldiers at the base and closed the dry casks while using his radiation shield to protect himself. Stark sealed two buildings in the facility, when Rhodes told him that A.I.M. had loaded power sources onto a train and were escaping with it. Stark pursued the train, defeating the helicopters that attacked him. The train's defenses attacked Stark, but Stark managed to destroy them as well as the train itself.

Stark entered Block 3 of the facility and attacked the A.I.M. soldiers inside. J.A.R.V.I.S. warned Stark of another high radiation area, and Stark asked Rhodes what it was. Rhodes did not know, but warned Stark of an unknown heat signature in the area. Stark found the source of the radiation and heat signature: Boris Bullski in an armor similar to his own. Bullski and Stark began fighting as Bullski demanded that Stark leave. Bullski's armor became weak due to the radiation, but Stark defeated Bullskit before the armor could explode.[1]

Iron Man talks about obligations

"At first, I just wanted to destroy my own weapons, and that was simple, but now, I mean, now I know about A.I.M. And since I know, I have an obligation to do something about it."
Tony Stark[src]

Tony Stark realized the insanity of attempting to steal from a nuclear facility and felt a sense of obligation to do something about their activities. He helped the United States Air Force recover a ship which A.I.M. had hijacked. Stark became frustrated with A.I.M., who attacked Stark Industries Headquarters in hopes of taking his armor. Stark fended off the attack, but also learned that Obadiah Stane was behind it. Stark confronted Stane and A.I.M., defeating both and ending their attempts to sell the Iron Monger Armor as a weapon.[1]
