The Robbery of the Black Market Auction was an armed robbery planned by the Tracksuit Mafia, targeting items recovered from the Avengers Compound that were being sold off at private auction located underneath a socialite gala. Although the Tracksuit Mafia was able to escape with a wristwatch, the rest of the robbery was circumvented by Kate Bishop.

In December 2024, the Tracksuit Mafia planned on robbing a black market auction which was selling various items retrieved from the ruins of the Avengers Compound following the Battle of Earth. Specifically, the mafia desired a prized Rolex wristwatch, and it was prioritized as the primary objective of the robbery by its members. This auction was attended by various people, including members of the Duquesne family such as Armand Duquesne III and his nephew, Jack Duquesne.[2]

During the auction, Kate Bishop was pretending to be a waiter and was watching the auction. Soon the next big-ticket item was brought out: Ronin's Retractable Sword, both Armand and Jack had a brief bidding war over the sword, but in the end, Armand had won the bid for the sword, agreeing to buy it for $475,000. The Next big item brought out was Ronin's Suit, but before the biding could begin the Tracksuit Mafia destroyed a wall. The Tracksuit Mafia was looking for only the watch. Meanwhile, Bishop donned the Ronin Suit and attempted to stop the Tracksuit Mafia, managing to take most of them out in a brief scuffle.

Lucky attacks

During the chaos, Jack Duquesne managed to steal Ronin's Retractable Sword, and snuck away unnoticed. Despite Bishop taking out several Tracksuit Mafia members, the group managed to steal the Facility watch, in an attempt to stop them from stealing the watch Bishop ran outside, only to see Lucky attempting to stop them. Lucky ran away and Bishop stopped her pursuit to save him from oncoming traffic.[2]

Aftermath[]

"The cause of the explosion is still under investigation. But witnesses captured cell phone footage of a masked assailant fleeing the scene. Authorities believe the assailant could be the Ronin, who terrorized organized crime in New York and elsewhere. This is the first potential sighting of the Ronin in years."

Kate Bishop went straight to her apartment and decided to adopt Lucky, feeding him pizza soon after. This attack led to Bishop to discover Armand Duquesne III's assassination. However, this ended up being a bad move as she was intercepted by Duquesne's maid who discovered his dead body. All of these events led to Bishop being marked as a target by the Tracksuit Mafia, resulting in an ambush by an alleyway.[2]
