The Robber Baron attended Victor Timely's performance at the World's Columbian Exposition, during which Timely claimed that time was the future of energy. The Robber Baron demanded to know what Timely knew about the future, so Timely explained that he knew more than they would think, impressing the crowd. Timely demonstrated his amchine, creating sparks of electricty around the room. As the crowd applauded, the Robber Baron stated his intention to get the machine.

Timely went into the crowd, so the Robber Baron approached him and offered Timely a partnership. Timely refused and continued to the crowd, where Guy Pennyman III offered to buy it. Timely stood tall and started taking bids, so Pennyman and the Robber Baron entered a bidding war. The Robber Baron won, and Timely accepted the cash before leaving.[2]

The Robbern Baron quickly discovered that the Temporal Loom was fake, so he started chasing Victor Timely through the World's Columbian Exposition. The Robber Baron chased Timely to an exhibit about Egypt and could not find him. The Robber Baron suddenly found him, so Timely ran again and got an orange from Hugo and threw it at the Robber Baron. Timely ran into the pod on the Ferris wheel, but crawled out as the Robber Baron and his crew rushed in. The door closed, trapping the Robber Baron as the Ferris wheel began to move. The Robber Baron waited on the Ferris wheel and saw that Timely was in the next capsule over.

As the Ferris wheel stopped, the Robber Baron started chasing Timely through the crowd, but suddenly the Ghost Clock of Midway appeared, causing the crowd to scatter and allowing Timely to escape with Ravonna Renslayer. The Robber Baron found Timely in his apartment and demanded that he open the door, banging it down. They saw that Timely had left, so the Robber Baron ordered his men to look outside. The robber baron came across Loki and Mobius M. Mobius and insulted them, so Loki displayed his magic powers, causing the Robber Baron to flee and allow them to find Timely.[2]

  • In the comics, the Robber Baron was a bank owner who organized a gang of robbers under that persona to rob his own bank. However, his plot was discovered by the Human Torch, who managed to capture the robbers and make the Robber Baron confess.
