Rissing Tide is a website created for the promotion of the first season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. It was released on May 12, 2013. This in-universe website was created by a group of hackers called the Rising Tide. Containing secretive videos and information about superheroes and S.H.I.E.L.D., they were determined to reveal the truth.
When S.H.I.E.L.D. was closing in on the group of hackers, they all went dark, including the website, where they left a message stating they would return when S.H.I.E.L.D. was least expecting it. During the Pilot episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., it was revealed that Skye was one of the hackers behind the Rising Tide.
Rising Tide posts
The Rising Tide posted short videos of the events at the Stark Expo, which could have easily been filmed by a bystander. The Abomination was captured on video as well during the Duel of Harlem.
Two other videos involved S.H.I.E.L.D., who where obviously trying to cover up some of the damage of secretive projects.
The first post: We keep posting videos ...and someone is taking them down. We don't know who, but we won't be silenced.
