Project Reclamation

Leaving Vital Messages

"This S.H.I.E.L.D. technology will make you think that the 1980s got here a bit early."
―Rick Stoner[src]
In the 1970s, Stoner spearheaded Project Reclamation, an operation designed to save the selected elite of the mankind in the event of a catastrophic event. He brought some of the era's best technology to the Lighthouse, an underground facility located near Lake Ontario and left several pre-recorded messages behind for future guests. Following the avoiding of the 1972 Hydrogen Wave Crisis, Project Reclamation was abandoned and most of Stoner's legacy was forgotten.[1]

"Welcome to the Lighthouse, the world's last bastion against the encroaching darkness. If you're here, you understand the gravity of the situation. The world as we know it has come to an end."
―Rick Stoner[src]

  • In the comics, Rick Stoner was a Colonel of United States Army who fought in World War II during which he met Sergeant Nick Fury. After the war, he joined the CIA and worked with Wolverine on one occasion. Following the rise of HYDRA, Stoner was selected by Tony Stark to become the first executive director of the recently formed S.H.I.E.L.D..
