- "The world as we know it has come to an end. My name is General Rick Stoner. As you know, certain world events, should they occur, trigger what we in S.H.I.E.L.D. call Project Reclamation. This protocol was created as a black-ops action made only known to the highest-ranking S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives."

Meeting Daniel Sousa
Once Rick Stoner had enlisted into the United States Army, he was trained by Daniel Sousa, who found himself frustrated by Stoner's lack of skill. Sousa later noted that Stoner could not tell parts of the guns apart. During Stoner's training, he gained the nickname of "Little Ricky". Despite his troubled beginnings, Stoner eventually became an officer with the Army, as he rose up through the ranks until he eventually became a general. He was eventually transferred to S.H.I.E.L.D., where he served as one of its highest-ranking and most respected agents.
Leaving Vital Messages
In the 1970s, Stoner spearheaded Project Reclamation, an operation designed to save the selected elite of mankind in the event of a catastrophic event. He brought some of the era's best technology to the Lighthouse, an underground facility located near Lake Ontario and left several pre-recorded messages behind for future guests. Following the avoiding of the 1972 Hydrogen Wave Crisis, Project Reclamation was abandoned.
- "Now, don't just stand there gawking. Please follow me into the other room to deposit your valuables in the provided lock boxes. And you in the back, try to keep up."
