Retch was a member of the Yondu Ravager Clan who sided with Taserface and against Yondu Udonta. He was eventually killed by Groot during Yondu's escape.

Ravager
Taserface's Mutiny
Retch along with Yondu Ravager Clan went to the Iron Lotus to relax. Retch witnessed Stakar Ogord exile Yondu from the Ravagers. Right as Stakar left, Ayesha arrived to hire the Ravagers to hunt down the Guardians of the Galaxy who had stolen from them. Udonta took the job and left to find the Guardians. Meanwhile, Retch was sitting with Taserface and Kraglin Obfonteri, discussing that Udonta was becoming soft and began planning to start a mutiny against him.
The Ravagers managed to track down the Milano to Berhert. After Rocket Raccoon took down many of the Ravagers with his booby traps, Yondu got the upper hand on him with his Yaka Arrow. When Yondu decided to just return the batteries to the Sovereign instead of bringing in Rocket, Taserface turned on Yondu with Wrench saying he has gone soft. The Ravagers then turned on each other and were about to engage in a fight when Nebula shot Udonta in the head, destroying his Yaka Arrow Controller and knocking him out.[2]
Abusing Groot
Udonta, Rocket, and Groot were taken back to the Eclector where any Ravager members who sided with Udonta were released into space. Taserface took control of the Ravagers and beat Udonta up.
Retch asked Taserface if he could kill Groot, but Taserface disagreed, saying that Groot was too cute to kill and ordered Retch to take him to the tailor, where Groot was given a Ravager's outfit. At a celebration, Retch was laughing and kicking around Groot, calling out that Groot should be the new Ravagers' mascot, pouring alcohol onto the little tree, abusing him.[2]
Escape from the Eclector
As Yondu Udonta, Rocket Raccoon and Groot were escaping, Retch ran with the other Ravagers to block off their escape. Seeing Yondu use his Yaka Arrow and its controller to easily kill all of his teammates, Retch made a run for it, only to look behind him to see Groot chasing him. Fearing what he might do in revenge for the abuse he suffered earlier, he attempted to escape, only for Groot to attack him with his vines and throw him off the catwalk he was standing on, killing him upon the impact.[2]
