The Resurrection of Elektra was a ceremony performed by the Hand under the orders of Alexandra Reid to return Elektra back to life as the Black Sky, following her death at the hands of Nobu Yoshioka.
Background[]
The Hand and Nobu Yoshioka made it their goal to obtain Elektra, who was supposed to be the Black Sky, the Hand's weapon. However, Elektra didn't give in and stayed on Daredevil's side. Yoshioka was forced to fight Daredevil and Elektra. While they tried to kill Daredevil, Elektra jumped in the way, getting stabbed and killed. In her last breaths, Elektra felt like she finally did some good.
Elektra was held a funeral, which only Matt Murdock and Stick attended, but her corpse was later taken by the Hand to be resurrected.[1]
Resurrection[]
- "You were born. You lived and died. And what you saw on the other side, the darkness, the absence of everything, it's horrifying, isn't it? I have seen it, too. More than once. And all I want in this life is never to see it again. But now that we've been brought together that's not something we need to worry about."
- ―Alexandra Reid and Elektra[src]
Alexandra Reid got word that the Hand obtained Elektra Natchios. She oversaw as a man dressed the corpse in red cloth and put her in a Resurrection Sarcophagus. Later, Elektra was resurrected and she crawled out of the sarcophagus. Confused and scared, she lashed out at Reid, who easily subdued Elektra and held her close to calm her down.[2]
Aftermath[]
- "Her name is Elektra. She was raised by him. Trained to fight the Hand. Which she did, with me. Until they convinced themselves she could serve another purpose and killed her."
"She looked pretty alive back there."
"I know, but I was there when they... I was holding her when she died." - ―Matt Murdock and Jessica Jones[src]
Alexandra Reid gave Elektra food and told her she needed strength. Reid then oversaw many fighting sessions, which Elektra easily passed. In the final session, Reid had Elektra square off against Hand ninjas, with Elektra killing all of them. Reid then gave her a new suit as the Black Sky.[2]
