Officer Cadet Resendiz was a member of the United States Air Force who was studying to become a commissioned officer.
Biography[]
Basic Training 1984[]
As Resendiz prepared to help a flight with their haircuts for the first day of training, Chen arrived late with new trainee Carol Danvers. Resendiz recognized from Chen's face that Officer Jenks had scolded her, he silently consoled Chen, understanding Jenks' behavior. They then led their new United States Air Force privates to get medical examinations and uniforms before guiding the recruits to their dorms. The next day, he and Chen held a competition of strength.
Weeks later, Resendiz and Chen walked the trainees through their competitions for Field Day, announcing which trainees would be participating in which event. They then accompanied the trainees to Jacks Valley and approached Danvers and Rambeau when it was time for them to undergo chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear training. Resendiz and Chen attended the trainees' Acceptance Day and offered parting advice.[1]
Recognition[]
Resendiz and Chen resumed working together for the United States Air Force Academy's Recognition ceremony, where they led the cadets through the first day. They led the cadets through the second day of rigorous activity. On the third day, as the cadets all got into formation, Resendiz and Chen yelled inspirationally to each cadet. Resendiz yelled to Maria Rambeau and her integrity and Tom Bianchi about his leadership. At the Recognition dinner, Chen and Resendiz gave each cadet their pins.[1]
