The Rescue of Wakandan Hostages was a mission undertaken by Black Panther and Okoye in order to rescue the Wakandan hostages from Zanda and Douglas Scott.

Background[]

In 2008, Zanda and Douglas Scott took a group of hostages in Asunción, Paraguay. Being that there were Wakandan citizens among the hostages, T'Challa and Okoye were sent to rescue them.[1]

Rescue[]

T'Challa and Okoye tracked the Wakandan hostages down using Kimoyo Beads and broke into the building. The pair fought through several guards, and while Douglas Scott told Zanda to fight Okoye, Zanda instead insisted on fighting T'Challa. While Okoye approached the hostages, Zanda shot T'Challa with a vibranium bullet, wounding the Black Panther. Zanda held a hostage at gunpoint, but T'Challa stopped Zanda from shooting them, and continued fighting her, knocking the gun out of her hand. The rest of Zanda's terrorist group went after the hostages who were escaping while Zanda stayed behind to fight T'Challa. Okoye told the hostages to run while she fought Scott, and the hostages ran outside to find the police waiting for them. Zanda held Okoye at gunpoint when the police entered, forcing Zanda and Scott to run. While Okoye wanted to chase them, T'Challa advised her to hold back.

T'Challa and Okoye followed Zanda and Scott closely behind as the terrorists went to a ship which they were using to attempt to escape. T'Challa and Okoye boarded the ship and easily took down the terrorists, including Zanda and Scott.[1]

Aftermath[]

T'Challa and Okoye returned to Wakanda, and T'Chaka thanked Okoye for accompanying his son. Okoye complimented T'Challa's efforts to T'Chaka, and T'Challa did the same for her. T'Chaka complimented T'Challa for the modesty he was learning, and said that he still had a lot to learn.[1]
