"Luke, you helped me. I wanna hire you."
Mariah Dillard to Luke Cage[src]

The Rescue of Mariah Dillard was the successful attempt by Luke Cage to rescue Mariah Dillard, following Bushmaster's attempt to burn both her and Tilda Johnson alive.

Background[]

"Everybody in place?"
"One out front, one out back and two circling the block."
"Where's Shades?"
"He's taking care of something. Sure you don't want me to stay?"
"No, you get out of here, it's not your side of things."
Mariah Dillard and Alex Wesley[src]

When Mariah Dillard logged onto her bank account and learned that the Stylers had managed to steal all of her money, much to her horror, as she cried out in frustration. Dillard had then called Alex Wesley into her office, as she ordered him to bring Tilda Johnson up to her Brownstone before they would leave the city.

Once they were back inside the Brownstone, Dillard closed all the curtains and demanded that Johnson to stay away from the windows, all while ignoring Johnson as she continued to question what was happening. Dillard then got her updates from Alex Wesley about the situation, while packing up her bags. Dillard ordered Wesley to go and she armed herself with a Revolver, while Johnson questioned what they would need a gun for if Bushmaster would leave their heads on pikes.

They were then interrupted when Bushmaster kicked down the front door, and Dillard shot Bushmaster twice in the chest, which did not affect him at all. Bushmaster quickly disarmed Dillard and the Stylers brought in the corpses of two of her guards. Bushmaster then noted that he had met Johnson at Mother's Touch, and could have mistaken her as one of the Stokes family.[1]
