"I wish I could say that I saved you out of the kindness of my heart, but I didn't come to Kitson for noble gestures. I came to recruit those with nothing to lose."
―Izel to Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons[src]

The Rescue of Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons was a successful rescue attempt by Izel, seeking the aid of Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons in order to locate the Di'Allas on Earth.

Background[]

"Your knowledge might be perfect for what I'm searching for."
"And what's that?"
"Valuable artifacts stolen from me. And I know what planet they're on."
Izel and Jemma Simmons[src]

S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Leo Fitz became a wanted man on the planet of Kitson after he was caught cheating at a game with his Chronicom partner Enoch in the infamous House of Games owned by Mister Kitson. Moreover, the House of Games also became the stage of an intense confrontation between S.H.I.E.L.D. agents Daisy Johnson and Jemma Simmons, who were looking for Fitz, and a group of Chronicom Hunters sent by Atarah, which ended up by Fitz being captured by Malachi after the House of Games was heavily affected.[3]

Fitz and Simmons, who had been detained by the Chronicoms as well, were eventually able to escape from the Chronicoms thanks to Enoch, and used an Inter-Planetary Conveyance Disc which brought them back on Kitson, leading to their capture by Mister Kitson. Meanwhile, another entity was present at the House of Games: Izel, who was looking for people to enlist in her crew in order to help them retrieve the Di'Allas, who were on Earth, from which both Fitz and Simmons originated.[4]

Rescue[]

"You can't just expect me to give them to you."
"I didn't ask that. I'll buy them."
Mister Kitson and Izel[src]

As a result of their capture, Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons were forced by Mister Kitson to take part in a deadly game, along with Wayne, a gambler that had been caught trying to steal from the House of Games: all three were placed on guillotine tables with blades made of Veroovian Steel that they had to hold by pulling them with a chain; the first person to let go the blades would thus be decapitated and be declared the loser of the game, while the other two would be allowed to go free.

Upon hearing that Fitz and Simmons were from Earth, and while Fitz struggled to hold his blade, Izel approached the game. She sneaked behind Mister Kitson and quietly threatened him with her knife, preventing his bodyguard Montalban from interfering. She then asked Mister Kitson to release the two Humans, knowing that he had the means to rig the game by forcing Wayne to lose. Although Mister Kitson attempted to deny, Izel insisted by twisting her blade and promising him that he would be well paid.

With no other choice, Mister Kitson caused a small electric pulse in Wayne's blade, causing him to drop the blade, which instantly cut his head off, much to the crowd's rejoice. Montalban then lifted up the blades of Fitz and Simmons, releasing them, after which they were approached by Izel.[4]

Aftermath[]

"Whatever planet you're going to, it will probably be foreign to Fitz and I."
"Our knowledge is mostly Earth-based."
"Did you think it was luck that I saved the lives of two Terrans?"
Jemma Simmons, Leo Fitz and Izel[src]

Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons were recruited by Izel to join her crew in her search for the Di'Allas. Although Fitz and Simmons doubted that they could be of any assistance to Izel due to their lack of extraterrestrial knowledge, Izel explained that she had saved them precisely because of the fact that they were from Earth.

Although he had been bought by Izel in the same time as Fitz and Simmons, Enoch chose not to accompany them, and instead remained on Kitson in an attempt to gather his fellow Chronicom anthropologist to coordinate an effort to find the Chronicoms a new homeworld to replace Chronyca-2.[4]
