The Rescue of Captain Vassant was a mission by the United States Air Force to send Falcon to save Captain Vassant from being kidnapped by Georges Batroc and LAF.
Background
After the events of the Snap, Blip, and Battle of Earth, Captain America went back in time to return the Infinity Stones to their original timelines. After completing his mission, Rogers spent a life with his long-lost girlfriend, Peggy Carter, and subsequently returned to his original timeline as an older man. Wilson approached the older Rogers on a bench and they had a conversation about Roger's life in the 1940s with Carter.
Rogers subsequently revealed his shield to Wilson and chose him as the next Captain America. Wilson at first believed that he was undeserving of the shield, but Rogers insisted on Wilson being his successor. Wilson then promised Rogers that he would do his best to uphold the legacy of the shield.[1]
Instead of adopting the shield, Falcon decided to use an upgraded version of his EXO-7 suit for subsequent missions.[2]
