- "Kid, you need to come home. There's a contract out on us. Every piece of shit in this city is looking for you right now. I need you to come back now."
"I'm leaving like I should've in the beginning."
"Okay. Listen to me. I will put you on a train myself, but you need to come back. Let me ask you a question. How much do you trust this friend of yours, huh? Because right now you're the most valuable thing they've ever seen."
- ―Frank Castle and Amy Bendix
When Amy Bendix had taken photos of David Schultz kissing another man at a funeral, Anderson and Eliza Schultz had ordered John Pilgrim to massacre all of the grifters. Pilgrim had succeeded however Bendix was the one that had the photos of David and had managed to avoid the massacre. Bendix had gone on the run to avoid Anderson and Eliza's wrath. When Anderson and Eliza had saved Pilgrim's wife they had convinced him to hire mercenaries to go after and kill Bendix. Pilgrim had the old gang he was income in contact with several mercenaries to kill Bendix for a five million dollars. One mercenary leader and his group had failed by being killed by the Punisher while trying to find Bendix. One of Pilgrim's fellow gang members, Danny came into contact with Martin and had sent him and his crew of three mercenaries to Crescent Street to kill Bendix.
After discovering the location of Amy Bendix through Shantel, Martin, Davis, and two mercenaries were dispatched into Crescent St. As Bendix managed to escape, Martin and his men went to search the place in hopes of finding her. Martin and two mercenaries went upstairs while Davis stayed on the first floor, however, he was shot and killed by the Punisher. Martin was alerted when mercenaries heard gunshots and assume it was the Punisher, they went to investigate while Martin goes to find Bendix.
Martin started to investigate the rooms in order to find Bendix and found the door of the room Bendix was in. While the Punisher was killing the mercenaries, Martin threatened to kill her if she does not open the door. Bendix opened the door, pleading to Martin not to kill her. The two other mercenaries ran down the staircase, only to be killed the Punisher, leaving Martin the only one alive. As Martin was distracted by the gunshots, Bendix managed to disarm Martin and shoot him in the chest. Bendix then stepped away from him, as the Punisher finished wounded Martin, so Bendix did not become the murderer.
Amy Bendix, although doing it in the self-defense had shown remorse in shooting Martin, saying how she kept seeing the terror on his face being she shot him. Frank Castle told Bendix that she had shot Martin in order to keep herself alive so Martin wouldn't kill her. Bendix asked Castle if it was now just killed or be killed with them and the mercenaries and Castle confirmed that it was true.
