Angmo-Asan, also known as Red King, was one of the Sakaaran Imperials.
Biography[]
The Guardians of the Galaxy arrived on Sakaar, where Cosmo revealed that a piece of the Universal Weapon was being kept in Red King's throne room. Gamora told them that in order to defeat Red King they would need the support of the outerland tribes, a plan that quickly went south when Rocket accidentally damaged the sacred ground. The Guardians fought their way through the attacking Sakaarans and inadvertently ended up in the arena, where they discovered the piece of the Universal Weapon in Red King's staff.
When the Guardians defeated his brainwashed slaves Charlie-27 and Beta Ray Bill, Red King ordered his subordinate Caiera to kill the Guardians despite the fact that they had won their freedom. He threatened to release Green Scar if she did not follow this order, and fled inside his palace. The Guardians gave chase, defeating Charlie-27 and Beta Ray Bill again along with Caiera and Green Scar - Hulk. They then faced Red King himself and defeated him, retrieving the piece of the Universal Weapon.[2]
