Red Guardian's Shield is a circular shield used by Red Guardian.
History[]
Red Guardian's Glory Days[]
During his exploits as Red Guardian, Alexei Shostakov carried his shield in an attempt to imitate Captain America. However, after Shostakov was imprisoned in Seventh Circle Prison by General Dreykov, the shield was confiscated from him. During Shostakov's imprisonment, action figures were made of him as Red Guardian, complete with the shield.[1]

In 2016, Shostakov was called to the Seventh Circle Prison mail room, where he received a package containing an action figure of himself in his Red Guardian uniform, complete with his shield, which caused him to reminisce. However, the head of the figure popped off and revealed an ear-com which Shostakov put in, enabling Shostakov's adoptive daughters, Natasha Romanoff and Yelena Belova, to help coordinate his escape from the prison.[1]

In an alternate reality, the shield was found by Natasha Romanoff in the KGB Archive Building in Moscow, Russia. Romanoff strapped it on her back and decided to keep it for herself. She used it at the Hydra Siberian Facility in the fight against the Ultron Sentries and to help catch her fall during the escape.[2]

Sometime later, Romanoff met the Guardians of the Multiverse and witnessed Ultron's arrival. During the fight against him, she used the shield to repeatedly hit Ultron, preventing him from thinking straight on his next move. Her hits with the shield were in conjunction with Captain Carter, who used her shield as well.[3]
Stark Assassination Prevented[]
In an alternate reality, the shield was used by Alexei Shostakov in his exploits as the Red Guardian. He used it in his fights against Winter Soldier and Goliath. The shield was with Red Guardian when he joined the Avengers during the battle of New York.[4]

- In the comics, Red Guardian's shield was based on the design of Captain America's Shield but was initially not comprised of the same combination of Vibranium and Adamantium. However, later versions of the shield were upgraded by being cast in Vibranium from Wakanda.
