"I wish you'd take things like this more seriously, so that I don't see my company destroyed."
"So it's your company now?"
"It's always been my company."
Harold Meachum and Ward Meachum[src]

Rand Enterprises is an international corporation of humanitarian aid, headquartered in New York City. Founded by Wendell Rand and his partner Harold Meachum, the company flourished under their leadership. In 2001, Meachum engineered an airplane accident which claimed the lives of Rand and his wife, and led to their son Danny Rand being declared legally dead; with Rand's death, the company subsequently fell under the sole leadership of Meachum.

In 2004, Meachum died of cancer and his son Ward Meachum and daughter Joy Meachum officially took over, although Harold, who had been resurrected by the Hand, continued to lead the company from the shadows. After Danny Rand returned to New York in 2016, he was granted his rightful position as majority shareholder, although his decision to prioritise morality over profits caused the board to terminate his employment, firing Ward and Joy as well.

Following the assassination of board member Lawrence Wilkins, slated to be the company's new leader, Rand Enterprises had the three reinstated in order to salvage their public image. After the death of Bakuto, Harold decided to reveal his existence in order to officially reclaim the title of CEO; however, Ward took over the position after he killed his father in order to save Rand's life.

Businessman Wendell Rand and his friend Harold Meachum established Rand Enterprises and ordered the construction of the company's headquarters in New York City. Since its initial launch, Rand Enterprises has been a successful international company. Rand Enterprises specialized at several industries such as chemicals, cybernetics and pharmaceutics.[1] Rand Enterprises made business rivalries with various companies such as the Roxxon Corporation.[2]

In 1994, a Rand Enterprises truck with hazardous chemicals was part of a car accident that almost killed an elderly man. Chemicals from the flipped truck splashed on the face of the Matt Murdock, who saved the man's life. As they were absorbed into his eyes, Murdock was blinded.[3]

The Rands Are Gone

The company's success drew the attention of the Hand, an ancient and mysterious crime organization. Harold and Wendell were approached by Madame Gao, one of the Hand leaders, who sought to make a business deal but Rand disapproved. In 2001, Meachum began receiving treatment for terminal cancer. Gao promised to cure Meachum's cancer if he agreed to work with the Hand. Unbeknownst to Rand, Meachum used Rand Enterprises' assets and built several laboratories in China for the purpose of expanding the Hand's drug manufacturing operations.[4]

After uncovering Meachum's actions, Rand charted a plane to Anzhou and planned to take his wife Heather and their son Danny with him. Meachum decided to prevent Rand from bringing back proof by causing his plane to crash mid-flight. Before the Rands left the United States, Meachum injected the pilots with a poison he had previously obtained from Madame Gao. En route to Anzhou, both pilots succumbed to the poison and lost control of the plane. The plane crashed into the Himalayan mountain range, instantly killing Heather and Wendell. Danny was lost and declared legally dead.[1]

Meachum became CEO of Rand Enterprises and continued his cooperation with Gao. In 2004, Meachum died of cancer. The company subsequently fell under the leadership of his son Ward Meachum, and his daughter Joy became Chief Counsel. Later, Meachum was resurrected from the dead as Gao had promised and the Hand began forcing him to live in hiding, controlling Rand Enterprises for the Hand's benefit through his son Ward, who was the only one to know of his survival.[1]

Crafting Misty Knight's Bionic Arm

"Okay, Rand tech, let's see what you got."
Misty Knight[src]

Danny Rand personally requested the Rand Enterprises cybernetic division to design bionic prosthetic arm for Misty Knight whose arm was cut off by Bakuto. Together with Colleen Wing, Rand sent Knight a letter with the blueprint of the arm what she ultimately accepted. Rand Enterprises assigned Steve to test an arm and help Knight to adapt to her. In the Rand Enterprises Building, Steve and Knight tested an arm while he was recording every movement to configure it.

Steve then explained to Knight that arm was programmed to respond to the remaining nerve endings in her limb. Also, the muscles are flex and send a signal to the prosthetic to respond accordingly.[6] Later, Ward Meachum personally checked the characteristic and purchase orders of the arm, admitting the value of Knight's prosthesis.[7]

"A bit much to burn the whole thing down, don't you think?"
"Only way to be sure. Besides, I got Rand to purchase the building and the lot underneath it, so no harm done. I mean, it's not like I'm gonna pursue a complaint, is it? You're right, though. Money is power."
Luke Cage and Danny Rand[src]

Seeking for the shelter to hide from the Stylers, Luke Cage and Misty Knight contacted Danny Rand and asked him for help. Rand informed them about the Rand Enterprises Research Facility located in Queens which was not opened at that moment. Cage and Knight brought Mariah Dillard, Tilda Johnson and James Lucas to the facility where the Stylers could not find them. However, Bushmaster was informed about their location by Nandi Tyler and led the Stylers to attack the facility and murder Dillard. The confrontation resulted in McIver's arrest and particular wreckage of the facility while Rand Enterprises refused to comment the skirmish to the press.[8]

Learning that McIver escaped from the police custody, Rand personally arrived in Harlem to assist Cage in his fight against the Stylers. Together, they managed to locate the growhouse owned by the Stylers where McIver establishing the production of Nightshade. Rand and Cage defeated all hostiles and burned down the whole facility to stop McIver's schemes.
