- "Command post, we're clear. Suspect's not here. NYPD has been advised. Citywide BOLO. Suspect Matthew Murdock to be considered armed and dangerous."
- ―Ray Nadeem[src]
The Raid on Matt Murdock's Apartment was a mission, organized by the FBI in an attempt to apprehend Matt Murdock.
Background[]
- "There's a criminal I've employed. A facilitator. On my behalf, he's laundered and hid money, bribed law enforcement and court officials, orchestrated perjured testimony, manufactured evidence."
"Who is he?"
"A lawyer. Matthew Murdock." - ―Wilson Fisk and Ray Nadeem[src]
Being aware that Matt Murdock would attempt to search the information about him at Ryker's Island, Wilson Fisk ordered his subordinates to keep him informed. Once Murdock arrived at the prison, pretending to be Foggy Nelson, he attempted to find any information about the Albanian Syndicate, however, he was restrained by Oscar before Fisk ordered Ryker's inmates to attack Murdock.
Murdock was able to fight back, despite being semi-unconscious, so he successfully defeated all inmates on his way. While he tried to find a way out, Murdock was attacked by the Albanian Syndicate members, led by Vic Jusufi. Murdock managed to convince Jusufi that Fisk was their mutual enemy and Murdock could put him back in jail, where Jusufi could do whatever he wanted with Fisk. Jusufi informed Murdock that Fisk staged an attack on his life to force the FBI to move him away. He also told Murdock that Fisk bribed Jasper Evans and set him free as a reward.
With Albanians' help, Murdock managed to leave the prison, while other inmates started a riot and killed multiple prison guards. Guards outside of the prison, who arrived to suppress the riot, took Murdock and got him out of the area. Exhausted Murdock collapsed into the taxicab and asked to drive him back home. However, when Murdock woke up, he found out that Malik Saini was replaced by Fisk's subordinate who jumped out of the car that was driving to the docks. The car drove off the pierce and drowned, but Murdock managed to leave the car and survive the attack.[3]
Raid[]
- "Murdock's been home. Recently."
- ―Ray Nadeem[src]
The next day, authorities found the drowned car and Benjamin Donovan informed Wilson Fisk that Felix Manning's men failed to find Matt Murdock's body. Knowing about Murdock's exceptional abilities, Fisk suggested that he could survive the attack and he can not rely on his possible death. Fisk decided to get the FBI into the search for Murdock, so he lied to Ray Nadeem that Murdock was his criminal associate.
FBI agents, led by Nadeem, were tasked with apprehending Murdock to interrogate him about his connection with Fisk. As Murdock returned to his apartment, he heard that the agents had arrived to the building, in order to arrest him. He escaped from the apartment through the window, before Nadeem ordered agents to burst inside the apartment. The agents searched the place, only to conclude that Murdock was not there, however, Nadeem found his wet clothes on the floor, which means Murdock was there recently. Nadeem contacted the command post, reporting that the suspect is on the loose.[4]
Aftermath[]
- "I think Matt Murdock is hiding a double life. Lawyer by day and criminal by night. And you and Ms. Page both know all about it. It makes you uncomfortable. And complicit. And that's why you're no longer law partners or friends. Because once he's finally caught, you know you're on the hook as an accessory to his crimes. Or, if you're lucky, simply aiding and abetting."
- ―Ray Nadeem to Foggy Nelson[src]
In an attempt to track down Matt Murdock, the FBI started an investigation to find any possible connection between him and Wilson Fisk. Ray Nadeem found out that Nelson and Murdock were once hired to represent John Healy who was working on Fisk before his death. Nadeem ordered Fremont and Johnson to apprehend Karen Page and bring her to the apartment to question her. Page dismissed any connection between Murdock and Fisk, and informed Nadeem that Fisk hired them through James Wesley who was working at the Confederated Global Investments.
Nadeem then visited Nelson's Meats to speak with Foggy Nelson about Murdock and the disbandment of their law firm. As well as Page, Nelson assured Nadeem that they never worked for Fisk by any means, however, Nadeem was not convinced. Nadeem suggested that Murdock is hiding a double life, being criminal and Fisk's subordinate, while Nelson and Page knew all about it. Nadeem informed Nelson that the FBI will keep investigating to find Murdock, and Nelson and Page will be arrested for accessory to his crimes.[4]
