The Quantum Energy Chamber is a device created by Bill Foster that uses waves of quantum energy to help stabilize Ava Starr's molecular disequilibrium.
History[]
In the aftermath of the collapse of S.H.I.E.L.D., Bill Foster took care of Ava Starr and created the Quantum Energy Chamber in an attempt to slow her decay. Whenever she felt exhausted by her powers, Starr could rest in this chamber in order to temporarily ease her condition.
Ghost used the chamber upon returning to her hideout after stealing the Mobile Laboratory from Hank Pym and Hope van Dyne. Ant-Man and the Wasp later found Ghost resting in the chamber as they entered the hideout to reclaim the lab. However, Ghost took advantage of a moment of distraction from them to silently exit the chamber and attack them. Once the two of them were captured along Pym and Bill Foster revealed his connection to Ghost, Foster used a Pym Particle Disc to shrink the chamber, planning to leave with it to use the Quantum Tunnel built by Pym and van Dyne.
Foster and Ghost set up the chamber in the Mobile Laboratory and connected it to the Quantum Tunnel, which would be used to harvest quantum energy from the Quantum Realm-trapped Janet van Dyne, even if it could kill her in the process. Once the process was initiated, Ghost went into her energy chamber and began receiving the quantum energy stabilizing her body, but the transfer was interrupted by Ant-Man, forcing Ghost to exit the chamber and attack him.
Later, Ghost found out that she would no longer need to use the chamber as Janet was able to directly transfer quantum energy into Ghost's body without risking the life of any of them.[1]
Capabilities[]
The Quantum Energy Chamber, when activated, continuously emitted streams of quantum energy which helped Ava Starr to stabilize her condition, reducing the frequency and intensity of her dephasing with reality. It was, however, insufficient to completely cure her. Once connected to the Quantum Tunnel, the chamber was able to directly harvest quantum energy from the Quantum Realm and transfer it in greater amounts it to its user.
