The Priestesses of the Sovereign are a religious organization of the Sovereign formerly led by Ayesha.

History

Hiring the Guardians

Unwilling to sacrifice their own Sovereign people, the Priestesses of the Sovereign hired the Guardians of the Galaxy to fight the Abilisk as it appeared and went after the Sovereign's Anulax Batteries. The Priestesses, led by Ayesha, thanked the Guardians for their efforts. Ayesha and Peter Quill briefly flirted, and the Priestesses released Nebula into the Guardians' custody in exchange for their efforts.[1]

Seeking Retribution

As the Guardians left, Rocket Raccoon stole the Anulax Batteries, causing the Preistesses to order an attack on the Guardians. The Guardians escaped with help from Ego, and Taserface later told Ayesha's chambermaid where the Guardians could be found, so they again attacked and were defeated. The Sovereign Council demanded Ayesha account for the loss of resources, and Ayesha said that she had designed a new weapon to chase their enemies, which she named Adam.[1]
