―The Potion Trial's riddle[src]

The Potions Witch Trial was the first trial of the Witches' Road to challenge the Potions Witch.

Background[]

To be added[2][3]

Trial[]

This section needs a rewrite

Traveling on the Witches' Road for a while, Agatha Harkness' Coven found themselves in the Witches' Road Beach House, where the Potions Witch Trial awaited them. After solving a riddle, a bottle of wine and some wine glasses appeared. The coven members drank the wine and discovered it was poisoned. Jennifer Kale instructed the other coven members on what ingredients to collect for the antidote.

As they collected the ingredients, each person who ingested the poison had specific hallucinations related to past traumas. Sharon Davis had flashbacks to her time trapped in Wanda Maximoff's Hex. Jennifer Kale had one of the man who assaulted her and bound her magic. Alice Wu-Gulliver had one of her mother Lorna mourning her own mother's death. Lilia Calderu hallucinated about her daughter decaying and being visited by Death. Agatha Harkness had one about a bassinet bearing the Darkhold where a baby should have been.

As the trial neared its end, seawater completely surrounded the house. When the trial's timer ended, the windows broke and let the water flood in. Jennifer Kale, the coven's potions witch, was able to brew the antidote for everyone with the ingredients collected to drink right before the waters began to flood the house.[3]

Aftermath[]

Jennifer Kale, the coven's potions witch, was able to create a potion to save them. The witches were able to all ingest the antidote and safely escape right as the house began to be flooded. However, Sharon Davis' hair was not inserted into the potion, so she died.[3]

Agatha Harkness was utterly unfazed by Davis' death, even asking who she was by referring to her by the name given to her in the Westview Anomaly. Billy Maximoff, however, mourned Davis and shut her eyes, and the coven continued on the Witches' Road while Davis' corpse was buried by Maximoff and Alice Wu-Gulliver.[4]

Trivia[]

  • The poison was called Alewife's Revenge. It caused momentary facial swelling, dizziness, delirium, loss of motor function, and (if not treated in time), death.
  • The antidote had the following ingredients:
    • Gut of a eusocial insect (i.e. honey).
    • Eye of newt (i.e. mustard seed).
    • Corpse of something that has been decaying for 30 million years (eg. petroleum jelly and other products).
    • Frankincense (found in essential oils).
    • Blood of the unpoisoned.
