Antoine Triplett retrieved his grandfather's Howling Commando gear and offered it to Phil Coulson as a tactical advantage during the undercover investigation on Cybertek and the missions to come. The Portable X-Ray Scanner was among these items.
Triplett used it in HYDRA's Barbershop Headquarters per Coulson's request to analyze the surroundings, locating a secret door to a computer room.[1]
