- "This place right here is Switzerland. Everybody knows that."
- ―Pop[src]
Pop's Barber Shop is a small barbershop in Harlem owned by Pop, where Luke Cage begins to work after returning to Harlem.
History
Established
Some time after Pop was released from prison, he opened up a barber shop in Harlem to provide some peaceful ground for everyone, offer morality to his customers, and help prevent kids from committing crime. He even added a swear jar he enforces to make everyone stop using profane language.[2]
Attack on Pop's Barber Shop
- "Did you guys shoot up Pop's Barber Shop to get to him?"
"There's rules to this shit. Pop's was Switzerland. Everybody loved him. One of Cottonmouth's guys, Tone, was reckless. When he found out Chico was there, he lit the place up. I couldn't stop him in time." - ―Misty Knight and Shades[src]

Reopening
- "When Ms. Hopson comes here, I'm giving her all the money I made selling this merchandise, and I'm taking over the lease of the barbershop. Because if this is the route that you're gonna go, you can come here and get your hair cut, but that's it. Can't talk shop around here. 'Cause this place is Switzerland. It has to be, and you know it."
- ―Dave Griffith to Luke Cage and Sugar[src]
In a conversation between Luke Cage, Sugar, and Dave Griffith, Cage had informed the two that he had met with Rosalie Carbone and organized a plan to keep operations outside parts of Harlem. Griffith called to Cage on this decision, referring to him as a "crime boss" and that he wished to keep the tradition of the barber shop as Switzerland; he requested that both men leave the shop, to which they followed.[3]
